I don't understand why there are so many bad reviews. People just don’t seem to follow the instructions. I first bought a single 12 pack but it only covered about half my pool, so I bought another pack. In total, I used 22 to cover about 95% of the pool, plus one to cover the spa. I live in a windy area so the covers move around a lot, but keeping them in place is easy with almost full coverage. Tip: Do not inflate them completely, just enough so they float. The heat from the sun will expand the air during the day, and overinflating them can cause leaks. Also, use common sense: do not drag them across rough surfaces as that can scratch and deflate them. If your pool does not get full direct sunlight, these likely will not work for you. I'm in California, where my pool gets direct sunlight for about 12 hours a day. I even removed several trees that used to shade it. In summer, my pool water used to stay between 75 and 78 degrees, but now it is up to 90. Even at 5 in the morning the water stays a toasty 85-86 degrees. I have even added morning swims to my routine. It's amazing.

Just want to say how disappointed I am over these panels for the pool. I have purchased these thinking it would be better having a warm pool . But they smell of bad plastic that lingers . Very toxic. If I suggest not making them anymore. Just not worth the money . I had to push one star so it would send . Not worth the one star . So dissatisfied.

The solar pool heaters work well but require attention from time to time. These work best when the center dome is full of air and not collapsed. So periodically, I get in the pool and lift them up and trap more air in them as I pull them down. I did not overinflate but left room for expansion due to the heat from the sun, so as not too stress the seams. It’s good to clean them when you take them out to swim because they will collect dust and debris. Occasionally, the wind will stack them up or blow them out of the pool, which I’m sure varies with location. Now that we are into the cooler Fall season, I have packed them away until spring. I think I can get a few years out of these.

Just built a pool and opted to hold off on the typical roof solar while absorbing the initial cost of the build. I have heard good things about solar pool covers, but didn't want the hassle of taking it off and on. I thought these would be a close second. They just don't really work and they take up a ton of deck space when you pull them out. They became known as the giant stack of pancakes during our swimming season. They "might" retain a small amount of heat overnight, but it seems that the shade they cast in the pool eliminates any heat gains on a hot day. They definitely get warm when sitting in the sun and you would think that as a heat sink, they would transfer some heat to the water. They just don't. I compared temperature gains on multiple similar weather days, both with and without the blue pancakes. No substantial differences. I'm tempted to cut out some of the bottom blue section to try that before I throw them away. As of right now though, I'd say they are a complete waste of money.

They have heated the poor, i think. They raised the temperature of the pool as the outside temperature increased. However, when the outside temperature decreased, so too, did the pool temperature. Water applied to the panels to keep them from flying away in the wind, led to calcium deposits (because of the water here) which are not easily erased. With these in the pool, they also decrease the surface water flow to the skimmer, so they collect leaves, bugs, etc., around them. We have a Creepy/Krauly system which works under the panels. To clean the pool, I have to take the panels out, use a skimmer on a pole to direct all the surface debris to the pool skimmer, brush all the yellow/green algae on the pool under the panels, then vacuum where the Creepy did not get. I believe this yellow/green algae comes from the heat the panels generate. When taking the panels out of the pool, a lot of this yellow/green liquid, which is trapped between the top layer and bottom layer of the panels is released into the pool. But they do heat the pool.

Great product. prevents evaporation, thus keeping your pool warmer . Fill with about half air. The sun will do the rest.

I ordered these as a warehouse deal, so they were probably already returned. They don't hold air very well. They end up clogging the skimmer, and they don't have much of an effect on the temperature of the pool. Big effort and expense, little return.

They work well and are easy to move on and off, just hard to clean! We had solar blankets and it was a drag to remove this is easier but harder to clean with the 3 layers

3/12 of this order had holes within the seams. We attempted patching but because it’s in the seams they still don’t hold air. I wouldn’t buy this product again
