Great product for the price point
I recently purchased this projector, and I couldn’t be happier with its performance. The 1000 ANSI lumens make for a bright and vibrant display, even in rooms with some ambient light. The colors are rich, the contrast is excellent, and the sharpness brings movies and shows to life in a way I didn’t expect from a projector at this price point. What really sets this projector apart is the audio by DBX-TV—the built-in sound is leagues ahead of most projectors I’ve used. The clarity, depth, and balance make for a truly immersive experience, eliminating the need for an external speaker in many cases. Setup was a breeze, and the variety of input options made it easy to connect my devices. Whether for movies, gaming, or presentations, this projector delivers top-notch performance. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a high-quality home theater experience!

Great Projector. Great Value. Gets the Job Done.
Bought this projector with plans to use it primarily for outdoor movie nights this year. Pictures show tests of the video quality when the projection size is about 100” and 200” under various media and lighting conditions. I have been thoroughly impressed with how well it performs. The video quality is very nice and respectably clear. The Dolby Audio speakers are also pleasantly powerful. The fan is noticeable when there is no sound but once you start watching something it pretty much fades into the background. My friends and I decided that for movie nights we would most likely still use our own sound equipment but for any outdoor watch parties for sporting events the internal Dolby speakers would be more than sufficient. The auto focus feature is very nice but I did find myself having to do only the slightest manual adjustment from time to time afterwards in a few of my test runs. But that only takes all of 2 seconds with the remote to do the finishing adjustment if it’s even necessary. The pre-loaded apps; Netflix, YouTube, and Amazon Video; I was able so use with no issues. However when I tried downloading Hulu and Disney+ from their “App Store” I was unable to get the apps to open properly. Thankfully, the projector comes with 2 x hdmi ports and a usb port so I just plugged in my Roku stick to use its apps instead and this solution worked fine. I did not try the Bluetooth feature in either direction so I cannot speak to how well that performs. Also it does not come with a protection cover for the lens when not in use so be mindful of that. Overall, for the features and the quality that you get at this budget-friendly price point it is truly a great projector. I am completely satisfied with my purchase and hope it lasts a long time with no issues.

Good projector bright enough to see in well lit kitchen
After remodeling our kitchen we were left with a large open wall that seemed perfect for projecting cooking videos on while following along. This cost effective projector helped to fill in that space. Even on a dark painted surface and with the kitchen fully lit the image shows just fine. I’ve include an image of the same screen with the lights on and shades open (you can see the reflection of the lights) and one with the lights off and the shades drawn to show the comparison. Even with the shades drawn there is still plenty of ambient light, but the picture still looks good. The projector auto focuses and corrects for position each time you move it, so we should be able to move this outside and project a movie on the fence with relative ease. The audio coming from the speakers is loud and clear enough that using Bluetooth to connect to external speakers, although an option, shouldn’t be necessary. The menu is surprisingly fast and the system was loaded with popular video content apps. Enough so that it covered everything we use without having to even look in the app store. Setup was quick and easy. With easy to understand image guided steps. Every app we tried has a QR code that simplified using them and we don’t have to type in passwords over and over. Overall there is good value here for the money and fits in well with our intended use.

Impressive Plug and Play Projector
We had been debating about getting a protector for our living room for a while. We decided to go for it to free up some space and settled on this one. It was super easy to set up (plug and play after adding batteries to the remote). We did have to readjust the shelf we have it mounted on, but that’s an us issue instead of a projector issue. We have it mounted on the wall on one side of the room about 22 feet from the wall where it projects. We have the zoom set to 53% so it can go a lot larger (see video), but at 53% it gives us a 120” screen size. The settings are easy to adjust and the sound is incredible. We have it at 17, and it’s LOUD. We had debated about getting a sound system as well, but I feel it’s not necessary. The built in apps are nice (Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, Disney+), but we added our fire stick as well. It has 2 HDMI ports so we have our fire stick and an HDMI cord for game systems. We did find the PlayStation pixilated at the large size, but the Switch works wonderfully. So watching TV/movies and casual gaming is perfect with this projector. If you’re planning to do more graphics heavy gaming it may need to be closer with a smaller projection size. When it’s completely dark it is super nice and clear. but even with lights on the picture is easy to see. With lights on (or curtains open) it’s a little hard to see dark scenes, but even then it’s not bad - similar to and older TV. I did include pictures of dark room and one with the lights on. We do plan to repaint the wall with projector friendly paint so that may help the image as well. We are super happy about making the plunge and can’t wait to host some movie nights!

Best projector I could find, I tried several
Had this projector for about a year. I loved it from the moment I turned it on. I watch stuff on the living room wall, the screen is massive and the picture is crisp. Viable in the day but even better at night. I don’t use the built in apps, only hdmi for my game consoles and laptop. Sound is good, more than loud enough for the space. I bought a few projectors on Amazon and tested them in my actual set up. This one was a winner through and through. Bought one for my dad a year later. The customer support number is very responsive should you need anything. Great deal, I can never go back to a tv again.

Amazing 4K Projector!!
I finally upgraded to a 4K projector for our family room. I've been using an old mini projected the last several years that really lacked working well in bright rooms. After reading reviews and doing quite a bit of research, I went with the Alvar 4K Projector. I couldn't believe how amazing the video is! I tested it in our family movie room where there's plenty of light at 3PM in the afternoon and the video was great! I remember trying to watch the Super Bowl last year around 3PM and my video was so faint. I couldn't believe how well I was able to see the videos. Of course, the video is much better in the dark but I am truly surprised at how well I can watch something in the bright afternoon now. The auto adjustment for focus, keystone, and avoiding obstacles features are game changers! I no longer need to manually adjust the picture! Although it has wifi 6 capabilities, I didn't connect it nor use the built in Netflix or other streaming applications because I prefer my Roku Streaming stick. The power brick is a bit on the larger side but doesn't bother me since I'm using a tripod tray. It may require an extension cord for folks mounting the project from ceilings though. My projector sits on a tripod tray about 12 feet away from the wall and at a height of 5 feet. It's now able to project a 121 inch diagonal video! Compared to my old projector, this new project projects a video is about 15 inches wider, when measured diagonally! I uploaded a few pics and a video: Sponge Bob photos - the faint one was taken at 3PM, the vivid one was at 9PM. The football video and image shows how clear the pictures are. This project is hands down the best in terms of picture quality, contrast, and color especially in brighter rooms. If you're in the market for a new 4k projector, you can't go wrong with this one! I highly recommend this model and brand.

Looks really good for the price.
This is an excellent portable projector for its price. It doesn't compare to my epson HC4000, especially in the edge focus but for around $200 with auto keystone, auto focus, wifi, netflix, prime video, etc. it's surprisingly capable. Network and netflix setup was effortless and work. Autofocus & keystone got into the ballpark but it was easy to manually adjust both. The pics attached were taken in standard picture mode in a basement media room with lights off but early morning sun shining through two tinted windows. Color was reasonably accurate and bright enough in this environment. I'm sure it would look better in complete darkness - but then all projectors do. Oh, and Tacoma FD is noice.

Cheap projector that doesn’t live up to expectations
I typically don’t write reviews unless a product greatly exceeds my expectations or severely underperforms my expectations, unfortunately this projector is in the underperforms category. I purchased this projector knowing it is a cheap projector and not expecting it to perform as well as the more expensive brand name projectors, but it doesn’t even live up to a cheap useable projector. I have had the projector for 2 months using approximately 8 to 10 hours per week. The first issue I noticed is a large amount of dust on the inside of the lens along with what appears to be a fingerprint. I should have returned it at this point, but it didn’t appear to affect the image quality so I didn’t worry about it too much. After setting it up in my living room projecting to a 120” screen, I was happy with the brightness and image quality for the price point. While the projector can be seen with the lights on, it appears washed out and really needs to be used only when it is dark, I expected this kind of performance at this price level. The projector out of the box was actually decent when used at the optimum distance from the screen, which was about 15 feet. When I moved the projector back from the optimum distance, the projector really started to show it’s weaknesses. Moving the projector back to the rooms optimum position, about 20 feet from the screen, I had to adjust the zoom down to fit the screen. Moving to this distance created 2 noticeable problems: 1. The image was noticeably dimmer, this is expected but it is not watchable with any lights on at this distance. 2. The image quality is much worse at this distance. Another issue that came up when having to zoom the image to the screen size is the projector resets the zoom level when it is turned off. So, every time I turn it on I have to adjust the zoom level to match the screen again. Also, the auto calibrate function only works at 100% zoom, so it will not auto calibrate when zoomed in on my screen. All of this means that every time I turn the projector on, I have to adjust the zoom to the screen size and manually calibrate the screen through the setup menu and manually focus the picture. Speaking of the focus, the manual focus does not have a fine focus setting, it jumps in large increments, which means finding the focus that is close enough and adjusting the position of the projector to fine tune the focus. Even with all of the issues mentioned, I would have given the projector 3 stars as it works pretty good when the projector doesn’t have to be zoomed in. The reason for the 1 star review is that the image has now developed black spots across the middle of the screen making it unwatchable. I have not used it for anything that has a static image which would have caused burn in. It has only been used to watch live TV or streamed movies. After less than 2 months of use, it appears this will be headed to the trash. TL:DR Pros Good picture and decent brightness at 100 zoom out of the box Cons Firmware for zoom, focus, and auto calibrate is terrible Loses picture quality and brightness if not at the optimum distance from the screen Black spots in image make it unwatchable after 2 months of use Update: I am updating my review to 3 stars. The company reached out after leaving my review and gave me some additional information and offered to make things right and I am satisfied with the final outcome. The information they provided is the projector is designed to work at a distance of 10 feet from the screen for optimum viewing. At this distance, the projector has a decent picture, about what I would expect at this price range. Since, this doesn’t fit my needs, I was provided a refund even though I was outside of the return period. The black spots noted on my first review are dead pixels, it became obvious as I was troubleshooting, and zoomed the picture to well over 300 inches. The dead pixels aren’t noticeable at the recommended range and screen size. I was not asked to update my review, but with the excellent customer service, I am adding 2 stars,
