Snackalicious
This was a fun and easy read. It mixes funny poems about growing up in the Midwest, dating troubles, and life today. The book is cleverly divided into parts named after snacks, which is quite amusing. It’s full of pop culture and food references that keep it interesting. If you’re looking for a book that’s both entertaining and makes you think a bit, this one’s a great pick. Definitely worth a read!

Contains multitudes
A very beautiful, honest, and approachable collection. The nuance and humor flow so easily, and you sense it's also finely crafted. There's a depth of emotional experiences here that's a powerful anchor to it all. Loved it.

Witty, Woeful, and Warm
Valerie nails comedy and devastating reality together beautifully in this debut collection. This is the book that you didn't know you needed when it comes to poetry - a bite of what being single, being together, being apart really feels like. This collection is better than chicken soup for the soul - it's chicken truth.

Painfully funny
This author knows how to weave wit, tragedy, and feminism together perfectly. I laughed; I cried; I contemplated the nature of our current society; and then, I was a little hungry.

Subversive and Smart
Valérie Nies collection really affected me deeply. Her poems are bold, unapologetic, and often quite funny. Snacks for the Love Hungry left me feeling connected to the poet’s experiences in ways I didn’t expect, and I’m delighted to have read it.
