Outstanding watch.
Absolutely incredible watch! Blown away with the features and battery life. Only downside is the heart rate monitor doesn’t work through dark tattoos. Using a HR strap instead of.

Impressed so far
If you have an older fenix like the 6 or 7 you are going to love the upgrade to the fenix 8. Yes price has gone up but you get more for the extra money. The best thing is that the operating system is pretty much the same as a fenix 6. Dead easy to set up, screen really nice. Feels quality as you would expect from a fenix... So far only unboxed and set up so only time will tell. Some people reviewed about software lag and hard to set up.. clearly not an issue for me. Setup 5minutes.. no lag what's so ever... Heart rate pretty good. Did a rowing workout using watch and Garmin HR strap and to be fair the wrist monitor did pretty good.... Already used the torch which is great for my early morning get up for work... Overall impressed... Ps if your not a fenix user you may find the size a bit big and heavy... For me I like the feel at wearing a watch so I never take it off. If you like something lighter and need all the sing and dancing features of a fenix then the 970 will be for you ..

Best one yet
So iwanted to give it a full testing before i did my review and after a month, im glad i upgraded from my Fenix 7X solar sapphire. I have been on the Fenix series ssince the third gen and whilst they have always been impressive, this one for me has been the biggest leap in my own personal use of things that are of benefit to me that come as addiions to the watch where i am aware, for most, they are things that will not get used but you could say that is the true of most things that have multiple functions. The biggest and most use for me is the Amoled screen. For some reason, the Fenix 7 screen just didnt have the same pop on it that all the other version had, i was always struggling to see the details. This one is way better and you cant miss it and that is on every screen you use. I dont know if they will ever be able to do a Amoled screen with the solar version but the battery life of this is really really good. I do triathlons so i use my watch 2-3 times a day and i am getting a coupld of weeks use out of a full battery compared to 7-10 days out of my Fenix 7X. The addition of being able to take calls on my watch is brilliant, i run with a running backpack on and my phone is in an Ortlieb drg bag and i would normally have to miss the call and ring back due to time it would take to ge tthe phone out but now i can take it on the watch which is great. No its not perfect and super loud but it works and for me im happy. The improvements will come in time so its something to bear in mind. What is weird is there is a noticable difference if it comes in on WhatsApp that a normal call, cannot work this out fo rhte life of me but its not as loud when ran through the App. They have updated the UI (user interface) to try and just have one version and i like it. It wont be everones cup of tea but the similarities are there, its just a case of playing with it to see the differences. There is a whole hos of functions that i have not yet teste but will at some point through the year, the watch has bought in some functiuon from the Garmin Dive watch and as i had already been skiing prior to getting this watch, that will have to wait till next year but it is definitely a game changer for me.

Awesome watch
Great watch for the active. Cool upgrades from my previous version of 6xpro. Battery life is solid. Display is very clear and many different stats you can display. Easy to use Quite expensive but for the active it’s a great tool to keep an eye on your daily activity and workouts.

Great watch
Bought in the Black Friday sale for a great price. As with all garmin watches it works perfectly as described

Disappointment
Love the watch Design, however the price didn't match the quality-watch developed issue with Music Playback where the sound started breaking up after 2min of play. Another thing the new type of buttons are very unpredictable find my self attempting to pressing the button couple time before it registers which is annoying to the least. No shortcuts for sleep mode like on my expix 2 but easily replaced with voice command. Could not see different on screen quality compared to epix 2. On the other hand battery was terrible, I'm guessing wouldn't last week and that was without AOD, my epix 2 lasted 3week with ease. Looking back I purchased Epix 2 pro for £680 compared to £710 Fenix 8 I see it as downgrade just for Material Build quality plus no significant functionality were added. Watch are going back and will keep using My Trusted Expix 2 pro

Watch is amazing, set up is poor
The watch itself is great, it is smart, not too big or chunky, comfortable and does pretty much everything I wanted, and works great with the app. The problem is the set up which isn't easy, it doesn't work how you expect it to. The maps aren't easy to set up and required some googling about whether I needed to pay for some or not but it turns out the watch just needed to update, and small other features requires a search on Google where the Garmin website is less than useless and the only good answers come from other users in social media. The watch can do so much and yet the support for set up and help for apps etc or the Garmin website is so poor. Still worth getting the watch, but I just wish Garmin would actually explain a few things!

Good service
Fantastic watch. White looks better in person than I thought it would. I am a little disappointed in the battery life, coming from a 265s I feel like I'm charging the Fenix more often. Overall, happy with the product and service from Amazon.
