The Iso love affair continues.
Ah, the illustrious technical graphing pen. I've used most of the popular Isograph pens - Koh-I-Noor Rapidograph, Rotring, and - my current favorite - Faber Castell TG1S. One problem I faced with these pens is dot gain/bleed when I set the tip down for more than a moment. I thought, "stupid pen." Then, after years of using these pens increasingly briskly so as to avoid smearing, I found a blog about the viscosity of different inks and ink weights. I thought that one could only use the 3085 Ultradraw ink with pens around the .25 thickness. Well, well, well, I was wrong. The 3084 was reviewed in said blog. It looked stronger, smarter, handsomer, and darker. Who could resist? And, after using this for several months now in my beloved F-C, it has worked wonders. I've got smoother, more controlled lines. It still bleeds a bit if you press on the page, but it's far easier to anticipate.

Absolute Best Ink for Koh-l-Noor Pens
I have used this ink regularly. I ran out of it once and used an inferior product from an art supply store. The result was not good. This is the only ink I plan to use with my Koh-l-Noor pens.

Chartpak 3084FBLA Rapidraw Ink, Fast-Drying, 3/4 Oz, Black
I have been using Rapidraw Ink since my days in college to become a draftsman (about 3 decades) and I still feel that it is the best technical ink on the market. Since retiring i am doing far more travel journaling and i still fill the same, and i still use my Rapid-O-Graphs.
