Suzuki Flute School, Vol 1: Flute Part

My daughter plays the flute. Loves this book and is progressing. Suzuki books are simply classic and teaches you how to play beautifully. Im so pleased with her progress. IT comes with a cd so this helps her to play correctly. We are a suzuki family as I played suzuki violin and and am instructor. I had no idea they had suzuki flute until her teacher told us. I believe the songs Suzuki picks really teaches a child to fall in love with good music. I'm very pleased.

My 8-year old son is a beginner flautist, and his teacher started him on this book. It's a great program -- the pieces get progressively longer and harder, but still FUN to play. The accompanying CD is great to get an "ear" for how the pieces are supposed to sound.

Love the book for the most part. The fingering chart is terribly had to read. I found a better one online and printed it out. You need the cd to go with this.

I love the Suzuki method and these books. It is a must to have a trained Suzuki teacher to excel with this method. My daughter started piano when she was 5.5, and is now 9, and just finishing up book 4, my other kids are following behind. I wish I had been taught this method-- maybe I would still play today!

If you are doing Suzuki, you don't need the review, you just need the book. Go for it - my daughter is enjoying it immensely. Get yourself a great flute teacher and you're on your way.

Not a very good instruction book.

Having used the violin tutor with my daughter which is excellent, I wanted to try Flute with my students. It certainly has its place and is good. Be warned it is not as good as the violin in my opinion as it moves so quickly and suddenly to the second register that for younger players I think it may be too challenging. Better for older players or adults,
