Seagate Exos x12 12TB SATA 6Gb/s 256MB Cache Enterprise Hard Drive 3.5in (ST12000NM0127) (Renewed)

I bought 2 of these Seagate Exos x12 12TB SATA 6Gb/s 256MB Cache Enterprise Hard Drives because of the price and guarantee. I had a drive go bad in my main NAS, that has been running for over 5 years with renewed drives in it. I've always bought renewed drives for storage. I used these to transfer data from a NAS with the bad drive so I could replace it. They work great, very fast. Recommend for anyone.

Bought several of these and so far they are performing perfectly. I use them in a separate usb c case and turn them on to backup all of my files weekly. Each had a lot of hours on them but few starts so I imagine they will do well for years to come. Zero errors on any of the drives.

Both drive have over four years of usage hours on them. I was expecting used drives based on the description, but as backup drives for my photos, I'm worried that since these are past their usable lifespan, they may fail sooner than I was expecting. On the positive side, they have very few bad sectors so I'm guessing that is why they can be described as they are. Will report back if they do fail soon.

I have a number of the EXOS helium drives in various sized up to 20 TB working as data drives. They have all been flawless, quiet, and cool running.

I hear from other costumers the hard drive it is a little used but man 58528 hours equal 6.7 years that it is insane. Another issue it is the typical noise the hard drive do before to fail very disappointed whit my unit. I will started to return process I am really don't recommend this hard drive refurbished units. First time I will like to try a unit like this but man that it is very frustrating. Speed it is 32mb for seconds wen in the original specified 350 MB for second that means this hard drive it is going really fast to fail son

I purchased 2x of these drives. They were well packaged and protected. I have already done an extensive test on one of the drives which already had power on time of more than 1350 days when connected it first. The SMART showed no errors and my Hard Disk Sentinel Surface Test to Reinitialize Disk Surface showed no errors after the scan. So everything is working great on the first disk. The second disk already had power on time of more than 800 days when connected it first. The SMART showed no errors and I will give update once Hard Disk Sentinel Surface Test to Reinitialize Disk Surface has finished. UPDATE: The disk is working perfectly and passed all tests. Overall I am happy with the purchase as both work and will form part of my backup pool. I feel confident and should one fail the pool will recover lost files. Purchasing a new or refurbished drive, any drive can fail at anytime. Saving money on a drive that might last me another 5 years or more is great. Lets see how it goes!

Bought a little over a year ago for external storage in a JBOD box. Pretty rock solid. The only concern is according to DriveDX its Hardware ECC Recovered number/score is 9. But it's been 9 for year and that error code isn't a major indicator of failure compared to others. For all the rest they are well into the green after a year.

I use it in my Synology NAS and it works great! Much cooler too. Older hard drives ran around 110 degrees.

Excellent disque. Très rapide et semble très fiable, aucun soucis pour le moment du moins. Cependant un peu trop bruyant pour un disque principal si pièce silencieuse, mais pour un disque de sauvegarde ou de travail aucun soucis, tant qu'on ne s'en sert pas pour lire un film le PC à coté de soi.

Works. Fast. Cheap. Good value. Came in much better condition that the advertisement suggested.

Come da precedente mia recensione confermo nuovamente la qualità del prodotto. Ne ho acquistato un altro (è il terzo) l ultimo arrivato è un disco del 2019 ma come per i due precedenti praticamente perfetto arrivato ben imballato e protetto testato con successo 24 ore e già in servizio.... 0 errori e 0 ore di funzionamento. Per ora mi sento di consigliare questo prodotto si risparmia un sacco e non si rinuncia a una buona qualità. Aggiorno la recensione al 12.10.24 arrivato il quarto disco sempre dal medesimo negozio... tutto perfetto a che l ultimo è del 2019 e dopo le canoniche 24 ore di test per verificare presenza errori, movimento testine etc .. posso dire che il disco anche in questo caso è risultato essere praticamente perfetto. Nessun settore danneggiato o riallocato. imballo perfetto verrà utilizzato per sicurezza nel server personale. Vedremo come si comporterà nel tempo. Tenete presente che eventuali rumori non sempre sono indicativi di problematiche presenti.. i dischi possono anche decidere di "morire" di colpo senza nessun preavviso... quindi valutate se per un uso casalingo ne può vale la pena acquistarli e suggerisco sempre di tenere copie di backup di tutti i dati che andrete a mettergli dentro...

They told me 'refurbished'. In this case they reset the SMART data so the power on time was 0. When I checked the FARM data after I discovered a lot of fraudulant drives were sold, I discovered the drive had already 42957 hours power on time. Given the fact that it was running in my system for 7678 hours it means that the drive was used for more than 4 years before I got it. I would call that fraude.

TL;DR Högkvalitets Enterprise HDD med 0 fel i flera utförliga tester. Konstant hög överföringshastighet som inte droppar med stor fil, alltså inga skadade sektorer. Rekommenderas! Fick HDDn i posten, hyffsat välförpackad men inget oroande. SMART test visade inga fel, men en manipulerad up-time på 0 timmar. Vilket ju knappast stämmer för en refurbed disk! Antingen vill säljaren dölja hur länge den har kört eller så vill de bara att man ska se sina "egna timmar" efter man köpt den refurbed. Det spelar ingen större roll kanske men jag blir nyfiken.. Kopplade in den i PCn med SATA III-kabel. Körde därefter Seatools "Short test" samt "Long Generic test" (ca 18 timmar) och båda var felfria. Därefter skapade jag en konstgjord 1 TB fil i Win 11 (ej sådan bara fylld med nollor, tog lång tid bara att skapa filen) och kopierade den till disken. Överföringshastigheten var konstant på max förväntat för en HDD med 7200 RPM, vilket tyder på att inga sektorer/områden är dåliga. Skulle lätt köpa igen om jag behövde en till. Det är bara att köpa en, testa själv, skicka tillbaka om disken har tecken på dåliga sektorer. Detta är inte bara ett bra pris för en 12 TB disk, det är en enterprise-disk och inte vanlig consumer, vilket betyder längre garantitid (från nyköp, inte här på Amazon), högre driftsäkerhet och byggd för servermiljö med mycket läs/skriv 24/7. Ger ifrån sig lite ljud då och då vilket man inte är van vid med SSDar, men inget superstörande. Kanske finns tystare HDDar. Använder man den som backup, som jag, och kopplar in den ibland spelar det ingen roll alls. Annars kanske man vill montera den i gummi-upphängning eller liknande i PC-chassit. Kan hänga ihop med att det just är en enterprise-disk och att den kollar sig själv då och då (men är inte säker).
