Amazingly effective
Had to use it for the first time today and it stopped the sore from developing further than a hint of an outline. Never happened to me with any one cream/medicine. I’m super impressed. As a bonus, it smells really pleasant, but not an annoying lingering smell.

Good preventative
Well I use it under lip balm or lipstick to prevent a cold sore. It has worked as I haven’t had one in a long time since using this. It’s not very moisturizing though so I use another product over it

Better than Abreva!
Better than Abreva! Same active ingredient but longer lasting and a far better bang for your buck!

better than anything else!
first I must say, if you're considering buying these then you probably know the unpleasant life of cold sores. these "chapsticks" have literally changed the game for me - I've not had an outbreak since switching. They feel like a regular chapstick but with a tiny hint of the numbing sensation you would get from applying abreva, which I appreciate because I can feel it working. I keep them all around (one in my purse, nightstand, in the living room) because you know how important it is to apply as soon as you feel the warmth/tingle coming, so the pack of 3 is great for that. I never feel weird about whipping out this doco chapstick in public because anyone would think it's a regular balm and it's so much easier than doing a dollop of the white cream. I can't explain how grateful I am to have found these and no longer have to carry abreva on me all the time, cold sore free since 2023 let's goooo

Only Preventative Measure That Has Ever Worked For Me!
I generally dont write reviews but I know this struggle and Im hoping this helps someone.Ok, if you suffer with cold sores and do not use this then I beg you to give it a try. For many years I have suffered the embarrassment early summer, during high stress or if I let my lips get chapped at any point. All the while trying every product from Lysine to Carmex and every over the counter stick of this that or the other possible as a preventative measure only to be rewarded with that dreaded tingling at some point. This year I decided to go with Doco figuring "it can't hurt". I have been using it religiously every day since Feb 19th and of course on April 29 I get that tingling feeling, see the clump of tiny (not yet noticible) blisters and start cursing. I go into treatment mode with the Abreva and compeed patches but get this that's ALL that happened, my story ends here. I'm writing this May 2nd only having dealt with the first signs of a breakout and nothing more, no progression, no embarrassment, no nothing.I know this is different for everyone and results will vary but I have tried everything and this is the only product that has ever worked for me to any degree.Try It. It won't hurt!Revision: For those that say "this is not a preventative because that's not how the medicine works" I say Hogwash! Having the Med's in place even before you are aware of the breakout is literally as fast as you can possibly apply it at the first signs of a breakout which prevents progression.I use it daily coupled with an SPF 45 lip balm.

The Tubes Are Defective!
This product really works! I love it and would use it every day to prevent cold sores and relieve them when they begin. But have bought it both with Lysine and without—except for one pack the tubes don’t work properly. Once I turned the tubes enough to raise the balm it was impossible to lower the balm down again. Hence the cover tended to get stuck on the product and created a mess. If not for this problem it would give it 5 stars and a perfect review. It’s much less messy than Abreva and if you take Lysine as a supplement you can get the Doco without Lysine which is cheaper. The balm has hardly any scent and no unpleasant taste. If only the tubes worked properly I would be very happy!
