Six pounds is a lot of cat food! Works great
I bought this because I was going camping for a couple of days and Iâm tired of leaving out large Tupperware dishes of food. I always felt guilty that my kitties were being subjected to stale food on the second day. This dish does the trick. It does auto feed but food doesnât completely fill the bowl but instead leaves a continuous pile of food at the mouth of the feeder. Some may not like that but it works for me. My feeling is the food that stays in the hopper stays fresher. Having read some reviews of other models that said food gets stuck and cats couldnât get to it I set this up a week before my trip just to ensure my babies wouldnât go hungry while I was gone. It worked perfectly. I have two large cats and 6 pounds of cat food is a lot and way more than they could possibly eat in 3 days but even so I filled the hopper full of food knowing that even if something happened on our camping trip and I had to extend a day they would have ample food. Came home to well fed kitties and a hopper 3/4 full. Food in the hopper was still fresh so no guilt putting it back in the bag and sealing it back up to feed them later. With my old method of just putting out bowls of food I always felt the food was stale and threw it away. Itâs worth noting that I donât use this every day but you certainly could. My cats get such pleasure out of dinner time and the refilling of the dry food bowl I only use this for overnight trips.

Great for cats with big heads!
My 14lb brown tabby has a fairly large head, and all other cat feeders I tried displeased her because she could not get her head comfortably close enough to the feeder to graze. In comes this wonderful feeder! My cat is happy and so am I! Having a bigger feeder drastically reduced the amount of cat food she would pull out of the bowl to eat off the floor. As an added layer of protection I placed the feeder in an under the bed sized container so now when bits of food wind up in the bottom of the container it's nothing my cordless handheld shop vac can't handle. Plus it keeps all the food on one spot rather than scattered all over my dining area.Side note: I only have two cats, so they do not go through 6 lbs of food quickly. Filling this to the top once or twice resulted in stale food and unhappy kitties. Thus, I recommend filling it only about a quarter, to maybe half full at a time to avoid food just sitting for too long and becoming stale.

No Stuck Kibble
I owned an automatic pet feeder until it broke. My cat went hungry and I didn't know, which made me determined to get one that doesn't rely on batteries.I've read a lot of reviews of other gravity feeders that complained about food getting stuck and needing to jostle the feeder. Since I leave my cat on vacation, I wanted something that is a little more reliable. One reviewer for the Pureness feeder mentioned the steep slope coming out of the feeder. I bought it on the strength of her review (thanks, Juana R.!), and I have to agree. It is steep, and the exit to the hopper is large. Should food ever actually fail to come down, it would be a simple matter for my cat to stick a nose or a paw inside to get it going. So far, that hasn't been a problem. Some reviewers noted the lid not staying closed. The lid on my feeder snaps shut and stays shut. That's also not a problem.I'd say the biggest drawback to the Pureness pet feeder is the plastic housing. It looks on the cheap side, but it works. I'm happy with it.

Nothing fancy, does the job.
It's the most basic of all basic plastic feeders. Sometimes you will manually have to push the food forward because it doesn't always spill out by itself. I don't recommend these to anyone who doesn't have a self-regulating cat... if your cat binge eats never ever use these. That's a cat problem and not a product problem though. Don't use this to go away on trips either, because as I said it can sometimes get stuck and the cat will go hungry because they don't understand how to pull it out themselves (unless you just have a very smart cat.)

good for multi pets and outdoors - DOESN'T CLOG - GREAT BARGAIN
I loved that the mouth of the feeder was big and didn't clog. This makes it easy for my situation, which is feeding feral cats, about 4 or 5 of them. I think it would allow too much food though, for one pet, if the pet was the sort to over eat. The reason I didn't go with 5 stars, and I'm still thinking. 4.9999, is because it's lightweight and tipped over a couple of times, I'm sure the cats did it, but still, it's not super sturdy. I resolved the issue by wedging the feeder into the hedges that are near the feeding area and placing a plastic gallon jug of water on top. That has worked! I think this was the best deal I found looking for feeders. Originally it was just for a 3 day vacation but I stuck with it and it's made it easier to feed these cats on a regular basis.

Cat seems to like it
I couldn't rate it a four. It allows too much flow for a cat. Maybe it wasn't designed for one. My Siamese tends to eat too much. Not a fat cat, but when he eats too much, I get a snake of wet cat food that comes out where it went in. Being the type that can't leave anything alone, I modified the feeder by adding a baffle out of plastic that blocks most of the feeder opening. Now the food pour rate is just about right for a cat. If it came that way it would be 5 stars. After all its a pet dish and feed not necessarily designed for my cat.

Clean and simple
I had to replace an electric food dispenser and decided to try this medium auto feeder. It is working fine with my dogâs food which is about 3/4 inch wide pieces. The gravity feed works and he is able to eat whenever he wants to do so. It is holding enough food for about 5 or 6 days for my 85 pound lab mix. I like it because it wonât overflow when he skips a meal, and it is see through to remind me to refill it when it runs low. You can refill it by flipping the lid back so it doesnât have to be empty before filling. It will be easy to keep clean. I like it.

Good quality for the price!!
Absolutely love this feeder. I bought it because I have multiple cats and was tired of filling up their bowl all the time. I fill this up once every three for four days. Great for lazy people like me! Nice quality.
