Great Performance and Features for the Price
Just received my VT02 a week or so ago. I am very pleased with the overall performance and features. At work I have used a professional Fluke thermal camera, and while that one has a higher resolution thermal sensor, it does not have the visual fusion feature that really makes the VT02 shine. And, there are other features on the VT02, like adjustable emissivity, that are also not found on some of the higher end models. The included SmartView software is a great addition...really makes the VT02 much more than just a thermal image producing device and I am glad the Fluke decided to keep the VT02 compatible with their standard software. I am curious if it is possible, though, to open up the features on the .IS2 image files that the VT02 saves. I use the same SmartView software on .IS2 images from higher end Fluke models and there is much more you can do in editing those images--even if it is just eye-candy features like 3D graphs. It seems like the VT02 .IS2 files should contain the data to make many of those editing features work, but perhaps they are just disabled and I can't expect Fluke to put everything into their entry-level thermal imager. The only actual flaw I see in the design is the bizarre lack of any spring-loading feature to the insertion or removal of the micro-SD memory card. You just slide the card in until it stops, which is not so bad. However, removing the memory card is VERY hard as there is not the normal "push and it springs back out" feature. You have to try and grab the very little amount of the tiny card edge that is sticking out and pull. It always takes me several tries to get the card out. Perhaps I received a defective unit and all the rest of the VT02's do have spring action on inserting and removing the memory card. But, if not, it is a really surprising design goof to make it so hard to remove the memory card when every other device that uses a micro-SD slot has spring action to it.Again, overall, I am VERY pleased with the features and performance of the VT02...particularly when compared to the price point of the higher end models.

Fantastic Instrument
As with other Fluke instruments the VT04A has a very intuitive interface and came with a pictorial user guide, which is all most users need to use the product. For those who want more they can download a 40 page user manual from the Fluke website, which is what I did BEFORE I purchased the VT04A.The VT04A has a 240 x 320 pixel color display that automatically adjusts to the temperature range of what the instrument is pointed at. This allows looking at scenes of various temperatures and seeing the temperature differences spread across the full range of colors without needing to change settings. The temperature seen in the bracketed area of the screen is displayed at the top and is saved as part of the image when the trigger is pressed. I changed the setting to save images to bitmap (BMP) format and found I could easily transfer them to my PC and work with them just like any other image.Pointing the VT04A at a door leading to my cold garage I could see the internal frame of the door as the wood is a poor insulator compared to the foam core of the door. Touch the surface of some room temperature object for a few seconds and you can see your hand print on that surface from the heat that was transferred. Walk into a room and you can see where people or pets have been sitting after they left the area. I walked around the house and found lots of devices plugged in due the heat they produce, and some devices I didn't expect were using power such as a surge suppressor with nothing turned on.Overall the VT04A is a fantastic instrument that I'm finding more and more uses for in my work, and given the reliability and ruggedness Fluke builds into all their instruments, I expect many years of service.

Good for the Price but still prefer A Flir.
The thermometer is simple to use and good for simple things. Price is cheap compared to a Flir but you pay for what you get. Resolution to me personally is not the greatest but it is very simple to use and comes with a 4GB SD card to take pictures of your findings and also 4 Double A batteries that run the thermometer.

Wenig Leistung für viel Geld
