This one is a bit snug, like the others
Just like the Jobst stockings, I am finding these a bit overly snug as well. I can say, high quality, good construction, but very difficult to put on. I am a very small lady, and am taking size large. I do realize that compression stockings should fit a bit snug for good compression; however, these are tight as well. Maybe it's me - but the one's they gave me in the hospital which were real cheapies, size small, weren't as tight as the ones I purchased from Amazon. If they do stretch out, I will do an edit to this review.

Trusted Product
I have found these to be a very useful product. I got my original pair in the hospital after a surgery to help prevent blood clots in my legs. This had happened to me in the past after a surgery, so effectiveness obviously is very important. These stockings, in conjunction with a blood thinning medication and a compression pump, have been effective so far. They are relatively comfortable despite the compression they provide, and go on fairly easily once you get the hang of it. Materials are of very good quality, and construction is also good. They last a reasonable time, but eventually will start to run and/or lose some of their compression, and so need periodic replacement. For such a mission-critical job as preventing potentially life threatening blood clots, you don't want 2nd best, and T.E.D. hose is a product that I trust.

Just what the doctor ordered and at a great price. Highly recommended!
These stockings are used routinely to help prevent the formation of blood clots in the lower leg following knee surgery and whenever extensive bed rest is required. This is the same stocking that was supplied to me at the hospital following my knee surgery. I was able to simply match the size and style to what I was given, but in case you don't have that information, the following might help:1) This sock is designed to fit a calf size of 15" to 17.5" in circumference (measured at thickest part) with a height of less than 18" (measured, barefooted, from floor to back of knee. They will fit a mens shoe size as small as about an 8. I am a size 13 EEE and they stretch to fit perfectly around my heel. The top of the sock should be about an inch or two below the knee cap.2) These provide light compression and can be worn at night and are very comfortable. The open toe area is actually under the toes, so it isn't as though your toes are sticking out. Nevertheless, the opening allows the foot to ventilate well.3) They are very thin (about like light weight polypropylene liner socks) and you can easily fit a pair of regular socks over them. Although these are very durable, I recommend this or slippers just to extend the life of this sock.4) They are machine washable and are best hung up to line dry. They dry completely in 30 minutes or less. The manufacturer recommends rotating soiled socks with clean ones at least every 3 days, so you may want to buy 2 of more pair.Unless you have had these recommended to you by a health professional, I do suggest that you check with your doctor before using these on your own.

great idea for airing out the feet with the hole on the bottom
Great idea for airing out the feet, but they feel a little weird to me walking in them. I love the regular ones though.

Great replacement for hospital TED hose
The Covidien brand of TED hose is what my husband was provided in the hospital after surgery. A local medical supply store would not sell me strong support TED hose without my husband being there for them to measure him (for safety, I'm sure - they even "hide" the strong TED hose so people can't just pick them up and buy them - if they are too tight, getting an adequate blood supply could be an issue). But my husband couldn't go to the store because he was not mobile. I was delighted to find the Covidien brand on Amazon, so we just ordered the same size and model that were printed on the hose provided by the hospital. The pair from Amazon was exactly the same, and I'm sure they were less expensive than at the local medical supply store, if they even carry the Covidien brand. Highly recommend this product, but ONLY if you have another pair provided by someone who knows what they are doing for sizing.

Big holec!
Kinda not for me the hole seems way big and my toes come out! The hole is loose where this is a factor.

If you gotta wear them......
Had surgery recently and the post-op instructions were to wear anti-clotting stockings for 3 weeks virtually 24 hours a day. I was sent home from the hospital with only one pair. Locally I could only find the diabetic type stockings so I went looking online. Found these (which are the exact ones the hospital used). If one has to wear the anti-thrombosis stockings these actually are very comfortable and with the open toe it at least lets my feet breathe a little. They are lightweight so it really doesn't feel like I have anything constricting my legs. I will say that wearing them for so long everyday does make my feet and legs really dry so my husband puts lotion on for me. So if I ever have to do this again I wouldn't hesitate to use these.

Wash, hang to air dry. It keeps the size
I like the product, I’ve worn these stockings as a infant and child, so as an adult I familiarize with this product. Thanks
