great chemistry teaching tool
As a teacher, I'm always looking for ways to make learning more engaging, especially in chemistry; this molecular model kit has been a huge help. The 125 pieces are enough to build a good variety of organic and inorganic molecules, which is great for illustrating concepts to my students. The models are easy to assemble and disassemble, making it simple to demonstrate different chemical structures, and the color-coding is intuitive—it's a great visual aid. 🧪It's also a good tool for helping students understand 3D shapes; I've noticed that they seem to grasp the concepts of bonding and molecular geometry much faster than before; this has saved me a lot of time during class—and hopefully improved their grades; it's a win-win.

The chemistry nerd in your life (even if it's you) will love it.
Love it. The connectors fit snugly and have enough flexibility to allow double and triple bonds without too much work. Great variety of molecules and it even has short connectors to allow space-filling models in addition to the stick-figure style.

Minimal instructions
We are homeschoolers, and my daughter frequently shows interest in subjects that are outside of my wheelhouse. In this case, she requested this product after seeing the We Are Stars documentary at our local science museum and learning about chemistry that way. I had no problem with getting it for her, but was hoping that it would be somewhat self-explanatory, as high school chemistry was a very long time ago and my brain did its best to forget absolutely everything I learned in that class. Unfortunately, the documentation included in this set is a single page, and while the model parts are there, there is really not much to explain what to do with anything to a child. This is obviously intended for a teacher to use with their class as a supplementation, not as a learning tool on its own.The other issue I have with the set is a quality control one. Some of the holes are large enough for the links to fit easily, but many of them are not. The link remover tool does work well to get them apart, but it's getting them together that is the hard part.Overall, I guess the product has its place, but it is not really a good one for us, and will probably end up just collecting dust until she eventually gets rid of it. Too bad. If it had come with a book on chemistry and molecules, I'm sure she would have loved it.

Good for Chemistry Student
I got these for my daughter to use to help build models in her high school Chemistry class. Her teacher thought they'd be especially helpful for students who are more visual and/or kinesthetic learners to be able to both see & build how various molecules combine to form different substances. Seems like a good product so far.

Great molecule building kit!
My homeschooled high-school aged daughters are studying chemistry this year and we wanted something hands on to help us visualize atomic relationships better. The materials in this kit are solid– cleanly manufactured with no rough spots or weird edges. It seems to have plenty of pieces for what we need. The tool for removing the smallest bond links works well. No complaints!

Science curriculum
I got this to add a visual element when teaching chemistry to my kid, she is homeschooled and we employ a lot of different methods to learn. I really like this set, she is 6 years old and understands the basic concepts of chemistry and is familiar with the periodic table of elements and this is a handy visual .

This is a good molecular model set to accompany a good chemistry textbook
This molecular model kit is a good choice for building inorganic and organic molecules. It comes with plenty of atoms, and the pieces fit well with other brands like Evotech and Molymod, making it versatile. A nice bonus is the flat connectors for building space-filling models. The tool for taking models apart is handy. Fit and finish of the atoms and bonds is good but a tad inconsistent (as another review said). No model I've tried has fallen apart under its own weight. The price is good but otherwise pretty typical. Overall, it's a good kit for students and teachers. This one will go onto the stack of other similar model kits since parts are interchangeable. As has also been pointed out, the lid isn't designed to stay on tight. This is where a big rubber band really shows it utility. As a user, I wouldn't consider this a toy, especially with all the small parts. It's a tool for augmenting chemistry teaching.Credentials for review: I'm a chemistry teacher
