Plasters are much heavier than paints, and need a primer with both high adhesion and the precise texture required to hold the plaster in place, both while working on the project and after it is completed. The texture in Quartz Primer provides a uniform surface that speeds up the plaster application by drawing the plaster more consistently from the trowel.

Necessary First Step in Creating Your Plaster Project!
I finished my fireplace remodel with Meodeds Concrete Look plaster, and the quartz primer is the necessary first step because its formulated to allow for better adhesion, durability and workability. I found it easy to use but a bit thinner than other primers I was used to. But the runny consistency did allow for the product to go a long way. I was able to roll two coats on my fireplace and still had a little left over. It's a little pricey, but the final outcome looks amazing! So I highly recommend starting your plaster project with this primer!

Very Good
I liked using this primer. It does give the medium a very fine grained structure. Very expensive though... so, not for most house projects.

Good Quality Product!
This primer is very good, we used to apply marmur fine and it came out all very well. Great adhesive, strongly recommend it

The Perfect Product Line for Authentic, Old-Home Plaster Restoration
I got this Meoded plaster primer, along with their plastic finishing trowel and their limestone plaster mix for a large plaster repair job in my 140-year-old home. The combination made the entire restoration project incredibly easy!Best of all, using these specific materials kept the final texture and composition authentic to the home's original historic plaster work. The primer was very easy to apply and really helped the plaster adhere to the bare lath after the original plaster keys broke, making this a great purchase for anyone tackling fine decorative plaster work or delicate historic repairs. You only need a little, so this large can is going to last quite a long time!Unfortunately, the room that needed the most immediate repair is the only room that happens to have a textured ceiling. So the patch is super smooth (thanks to the Meoded finishing trowel!), while the rest of the plaster is not. Because the base products were so easy to work with and the trowel made getting a smooth finish so easy, I plan to just skim coat the rest of the ceiling to make it match the patch, instead of attempting to texturize it to match. I prefer the smooth finish anyway, so it will be worth the extra effort...I hope!I am absolutely certain this brand is going to get a lot of repeat business from us as we slowly work our way through and patch up all the settling cracks and broken plaster keys that have gone neglected in our prior home before we stepped in to restore it. After working with several of their products, I am a big fan and will continue to return to Meoded's Amazon store for more home repair supplies in the future!
