Finally found the perfect coffee for me...
I have finally found a coffee that is easy on my stomach and that I enjoy. I have tried a few different low acid coffees such as Tyler's coffee, Java Planet, Bulletproof and Puroast. All of them have either tasted badly, still upset my stomach and/or flat out just made me feel weird. I have finished about 2/3 of the bag of Lucy Jo's and have yet to have negative side effects. I hope to try the other flavors as well. Reviews of other coffees: In general, I'm very sensitive to coffee and it's not the caffeine because I'm able to consume caffeine in other forms and have minimal to no side effects. With coffee, it will upset my stomach and make me just feel awful overall. It's a very unpleasant experience. It would be very frustrating because I really enjoy coffee. Instead, I drink teas such as Zest Tea (very high in caffeine) or would even take caffeine pills. No matter what I tried, I always felt like nothing was as effective or quite frankly as enjoyable as coffee. That's when I started trying the other low acid brands... (The coffees below were brewed using either using a French press or traditional drip coffee maker. I like to mix it up to figure out which style I prefer with each coffee.) 1. Lucky Jo’s Coffee (Sumatra): I have just about finished drinking an entire bag and plan on trying the other roasts. - a. Pros: --- i. Mild on stomach --- ii.High in caffeine --- iii. Great tasting --- iv. Reasonably priced --- v. Whole beans are available --- vi. Organic --- vii. Available through Amazon --- viii. No other weird side effects that I experience from some of the other coffees (see below) - b. Cons: --- i. None so far… 2. Tyler's Coffee: Most common coffee that I have drank - a. Pros: ---i. Mild on stomach --- ii. High in caffeine --- iii. Whole beans are available --- iv. Organic - b. Cons: --- i. Mediocre to poor taste --- ii. Overpriced --- iii. (perhaps unique to me) Frequently wouldn't feel well after drinking --- iv. Only available through their website 3. Bulletproof: 2nd most common coffee that I drank - a. Pros: --- i. Mild on stomach --- ii. Great tasting if mixed with butter (that basically goes for all coffee) --- iii. Whole beans are available - b. Cons: --- i. The whole brain octane and butter had zero effect on me. Other than the butter tasting good. --- ii. Overpriced --- iii. Inconvenient to have to blend up coffee every time you wanted to enjoy some coffee --- iv. Low in caffeine – I frequently would not get the boost that I would from normal coffee 4. Java Planet: I recently purchased a bag of this coffee and am almost finished with the bag - a. Pros: --- i. High in caffeine --- ii. Whole beans available --- iii. Organic --- iv. Decent tasting --- v. One of the cheaper low acid coffees - b. Cons: --- i. Not as easy on my stomach as I would expect for a low acid coffee --- ii. I would feel awful after drinking this coffee. It could’ve been because of my stomach or perhaps I just have some weird reaction to this coffee.

Best low acid coffee
In my opinion this is the best little acid coffee. It has a fantastic taste it sits well on my stomach. I prefer the whole bean to grind myself but I also buy the pre-ground. Either one is fantastic. If anybody has any tummy troubles I would suggest this in a heartbeat.

One of the Better Low-Acid Coffees I've Ever Had...
For the record, I use a Breville Burr Grinder for beans and a DeLonghi $99 or under coffeemaker. I'm a huge fan of Brazilian coffee so I had to "sniff in" on this. I was diagnosed with GERD back in 2004 so I've always mixed low-acid coffee beans with micro-roasters, Peet's or Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf beans. Coffee like wine gets a lot more interesting when blended. I typically blend a variety of beans from various parts of the world. Here are my tasting notes on this: It isn't very sour at all; nose is good out of the bag; nose also quite good early on in brewing cycle (I am an "odd bird" and I bury my beak in there when it start brewing to get that initial sniff); very tiny touch of bitterness; sniff of sweet like brown sugar; smooth drinking; "medium-dark" is dead-on balls accurate with the body of this java; not smoky; soft in the mouth; tastes very good with brown sugar notes in mouth; can taste brown sugar on after taste; this coffee is good black which is obviously always the true test of a good coffee; I polish it off with a splash of half & half and more than a splash of whole milk (I stopped adding sugar in the raw many years ago since whole milk supplies plenty of sugar); I had NO HEARTBURN after taking a Zantec with this and I had three (3) six (6) ounce cups; no need to grab for a Tum's tablet either; very small touch of spice on nose RATING = A Trader Joe's discontinued carrying their low-acid French Roast that was pretty good so I had to seek out others. I used to take PPI meds but got off of them many years ago because I knew long-term it would be detrimental to my health. I'd rather adjust my diet and go with Zantec and this java will work in that effort.

Good taste, love the low acid
I purchased this low acid coffee to see what difference there was. I must tell you that it is pretty good. A bit strong when I first tried it so i mixed it with a smoother (really weak) low acid coffee that needed a lift and the two together are great. Although, I had to carefully make the right mix -- 1 part weak coffee, 3 parts Lucy Jo's Coffee, Organic Mellow Belly DARK Low Acid Blend. Now I believe this coffee is just right all alone, no more mixing. I don't suffer acid problems in my digestion, I just wanted to try low acid coffee and a low acid coffee is definately smoother than regular. When i drink regular coffee, I drink mild regular coffees, not strong and bitter. For a different taste, I just ordered Lucy Jo's Coffee, Organic Mellow Belly Breakfast Low Acid Blend so you might check that coffee in a few months for my review. I only hope it's not too weak tasting. If it is, I'll buy this coffee to strengthen the taste. Happy sipping!

Good product, just not for me.
I wanted to try low acid coffee that didn't require a subscription and wouldn't break the bank. I found this on Amazon and read the reviews. I received it pretty quickly, fired up the coffee pot and experimented. The taste is smooth, the smell is robust enough to sling a coffee craving on you, the acid is low because my stomach didn't hurt hiwever, it just wasn't strong enough for me. I tried the Holiday Flavor as well, again...just not strong enough for me. Good product. Fast delivery, it must not have been Amazon, and good taste.
