Great sound quality
I was sick of getting static from my felt mat which kept on sticking to my records, so I decided to get a cork one because they are cheap. The sound quality has improved massively, much less crackles and pops and the bass is so much more prominent and sounds great with headphones.I've never understood why nearly all turntables come with felt mats because they are awful, id change yours ASAP, and this is a great cheap choice. The bad thing about this slipmat is it feels slightly rough and it's advertised as being 2mm thick when it's actually 2.4mm thick. It's a small price to pay for a massive improvement in sound quality.

Almost five stars
Provides a softer yet more stable platter whilst claiming to reduce static. I agree with the first points, it does indeed give a softer more stable platter for the record. It does reduce some static noise, however, when lifting records off the platter, the cork mat will stick to the record and lift off.Does it make improvements to the sound? I did notice some extra warmth in the overall sound whilst the soundstage sounded quieter, allowing more detail to come through. As an inexpensive addition to my turntable, it has made some subtle improvements but the way it sticks to the records when lifted is somewhat annoying.

Its great but wheres the reasonable value?
It does what you hope without asding further issues... all a vinyl guy can hope for really... but the cost... there isn't a cork mat on the market that represents value.I make the oress knives people use to cut these things. Aside from the cost of the knives and press and cork, this is a no brain no effort low cost, low risk operation and it takes one man minutes to produce hundreds of these. £20 ball park per mat is a joke.

Cork turntable mat - great value
Really great mat. Sits completely flat on the turntable improving tracking and speed stability. I've noticed instrument separation is slightly better and lower end frequencies are slightly more prominent in the sound stage.Comes in great packaging with the added bonus of a inner sleeve protecting the mat. The sleeve is now being used on one of my LP's.Same thickness as the stock felt mat that arrived with my Rega P2 so no need for and VTA adjustments. It also looks great on my glass platter above black plinth.Overall very happy with this product and a great price.

does excactly what you want it to do
what would you expect to gain by using a cork mat like this, extended bass, better timing, better speed stability?Well that is what you get and more ( my turntable is a Rega P3 with the low voltage motor mod ) and the bonus is static is drastically reduced.highly reccomended

Picks up static
Used this for a few months now. At first it was good. Compared to my original slipmat out of the box, this one sounds slightly better and picks up the bass heavier but after some time it has now started to hold static.

Static and more static.
Very nice sound keeps the base more tight, but there is a trade off. The sound is great but you will pick up static. For this reason gone back to my perspect mat which their is none of very little static.I clean my records before I play them on my Pro-ject VC S2 AUL fantastic piece of kit. This knocks out the static and I can play both sides with no static or very little. But when I'm on side two of my record on the cork mat picks up very noticeable static.Shame as a very good sound. So. I only be using it now and again.
