Works well
This is someone interesting to put on first time, but you get used to it. Nice it elevates arm away from the body. Has a decent size exercise ball, bonus compared to others. It gets the job done. Secure on the body

Decent Choice for East of Use but Simple Not Always Better
**Edited 8/31/24 10 days post surgeryIt was bound to happen. My primary sling, given to me before leaving surgical center, got wet. No problem, I thought, because I have that pretty good back up to wear while this one dries. Oh my ever loving word! it is totally different trying to arrange your sling comfortably when you absolutely cannot move your arm. And I had help.First of all, too much velcro which sticks to everything everywhere all at once. Very adjustable, but you will be screaming in frustration at having to rip those straps off your clothes, the wedge, the sleeve, etc. And the waist clip? Much harder to work than my regular sling.Once you have it on, it seems good. Secure. But the wedge is very stiff and a little too angular. It got uncomfortable fast. I was shocked by this. it didn't seem a big deal before. Nuance matters. For reference, I have an ultrasling II. **I'm having shoulder replacement surgery in a few weeks. While I understand they will be giving me a sling afterwards, I wanted to have another. I tried one before this one that was totally unsatisfactory, confusing, and could never be put on by one person. When I saw this, it looked like a better choice, and it was.The quality is good. The sleeve is not thick and seems very flexible. Easy to slip in and out of and not overly hot. The ball is appreciated, and the clever way it attaches to the sleeve is going to definitely make it something I will use. Every little thing to help recovery is a plus IMO. It is all completely adjustable, and can be switched for either arm. This came with no instructions, but it took very little time to figure out. There's a belt, adjustable from either side, that secures the pillow in place. It can be clicked into place with your opposite hand if you are sitting on a flat surface like a bed. The sling itself is also adjustable and accessible from either end. This will require I little more thought and trial and error, but it too can be done by you alone. After the first time, it will take very little to get this off and on by yourself. After my experience with the first sling I tried, I admit to being a little anxious about the whole sling thing, but this one set my mind at ease on that score. It is as comfortable as one can reasonably expect from something that is essentially holding your arm immobile. It could do a better job of keeping your shoulder from moving a bit.

Very uncomfortable
Nothing about this sling was comfortable. It cut my circulation off in several places. A sling shouldn’t inflict pain on an already painful surgery ordeal.

Well made, no instuctions
It was a frustrating figuring out how this was supposed to be set up. I couldn't figure out what the 'abduction pillow' was for because it did nothing to alleviate pain. As it turns out, it's not a real abduction pillow. Just google that and you'll see it's something entirely different. The ball served no purpose to me. But once I logged into Amazon to see the picture of how it's supposed to be set up, I was able to get it working. It's well made and sewn. I expect it to last a long time and I'll keep it around just in case.

Exactly like the one I received after shoulder surgery
This is the exact sling / brace I received after my shoulder repair. I didn't keep the foam block in long but for the 1st week I couldn't move and that block helped a lot. My SO has shoulder surgery scheduled and we didn't keep my sling. The cost of this sling from Amazon is less than the copay was for my mine. We decided to be proactive and order it before the surgery to save a lot of money.

perfect
I have 3 other slings that were given to me at various doctors' offices (previous injury) -- this sling provides more of the support that I need -- I fractured my Scapula (shoulder blade) falling in my bedroom, not off the bed -- the shoulder pad has just the right amount of padding and is open enough to slide over the strap end if I need to pull the sling up higher where the end of the strap ends up at the neck -- don't need the pillow but I did try it -- the pillow has a separate strap that goes around your belly and hook and loop bands that fastens it to the sling -- this pretty much immobilises your arm/shoulder -- the strap, of course, is adjustable and has click connector at the non-attached end -- there are hook and loop features all over -- there were no diagrams or instructions with this -- there is a small 6" strap that I figure that can hold your thumb in place or to close the sling at your rist -- another strap in the middle closes the sling between the elbow and wrist -- lots of little add ins that set this sling above many others -- very happy that I ordered it

Doesn't come with any instructions or diagrams on how to put this together, no internal pockets
Dr FRANKLYN's arm sling shoulder immobilizer arrived in a plastic bag with several straps, all detached. Previous experience with trying to fit / assemble an sling on our patient led to a lot of frustration, so we caregivers took some time to try to figure out how this goes together before involving the patient. There were no diagrams or instructions on how to assemble this, or where to attach all the straps. We had to review this webpage again and then find a stand in patient so we could assemble this. The arm sling is comfortable and has enough length to support the wrist and hand. The foam block was comfortable, but wasn't really needed for this injury. It would have been nice to have the option to attach the waist belt to the sling if we don't want to use the foam block. The patient liked the squeeze ball, but said it would be better if the squeeze ball made a squeaking sound. We were looking forward to using the internal pockets on the arm sling (as noted in the description) but we could not find any internal pockets on the sling that we received.Because the squeeze ball didn't make any squeaky sound and there were no pockets inside the sling, we could not entice our patient to switch to this sling or even pose for a photo with it on.
