Twelve South AirFly | Wireless transmitter to use AirPods & wireless headphones in gyms or on airplanes, white

I have just tested this product on a 13 hour flight to the Far East and bought it so that I could use by Bose Noise Cancelling Bluetooth Headphones with the inflight entertainment system. It was a pain pairing my headphones to it but once set up it worked fine and was very stable. Suggest you complete the pairing process before travelling.When I first connected the 3.5mm jack to one of sockets on the inflight entertainment the sound quality was shocking and sound was only coming through one side, I corrected this by slightly pulling the jack out of the socket and then everything worked fine including the sound quality. In future I will carry a flight headphone adapter so that I don't have this issue. All in all, happy with my purchase so would recommend.

This was a really disappointing purchase and has been returned immediately.The item does not not perform as intended and this appears to be a recurring issue which other reviewets have noted. The main issue which I faced was a continuously low volume via the device. There's no volume control on the device and many new earbud style headphones have no volume control either (reliant upon the streaming device). This usually works fine, but with Airfly, the volume was continuously very low and couldn't be increased.Airfly support were quick to respond but their replies weren't any use and were simply suggesting that I increase the volume on my headphones. There's something not right with the design of the product.I also don't feel like the design of the device warrants the price. The bundled cables feel extremely cheap and there's no USB-C charging support which doesn't feel right in 2019.

There are a lot of reviews of this product and Twelve South about.. They are making a name for themselves producing good quality Apple accessories.. This is well designed and seems to work well. It easily connected both my Beats X and Apple Airpod Pros.My only caveat is that the resulting volume is quite low. (Tested on a Nintendo Switch) especially on the Airpods. Twelve South mention on their site that the current Apple Firmware has a bug that affects volume so hopeful that this will be resolved soon.I notice that there is a newer version of this device out with double the battery Power AirFly Pro - It might be worth a look before pulling the trigger on this model.

Firstly let me say this does exactly what it states and is a great unit. Easy to connect to my airpods. However as I have now found out when using them as transmitters for 'In Ear Monitors (IEM) there is way to much latency, but I should have known. In any case I will keep them as they are great for normal use.

I bought these having read a review in the press for our trip to Mauritius. It worked a treat, I’d paired it to my AirPods and charged it before we left and it was so easy to use, just plug it in and switch on allowing you to use the convenience of your AirPods to watch movies or listen to music on the flight. You can recharge it using the usb connector which is supplied! A brilliant bit of kit for anyone flying often.

Seamlessly connect Airfly Classic to your AirPods Pro; well maybe not. Put aside a spare hour or so and not only read the instruction manual but try every different way of connecting the two and after wasting you’re entire evening, you do nothing differently but the two decide to pair. Sound quality seems reasonable but yet to be tested for their intended purpose of use on a flight. The pairing setup though is so bad that they fully deserve the single star.

Great productI travel a lot on long flights for my job and saw this for sale on a flight the same model but it was a lot cheaper from amazon even though the flight said it was an exclusive productWorks great I even use it at home for the tv in the lounge

I bought these as I love my AirPods and wanted to use them on flights. Just returned from a bunch of long haul flights and they were flawless. They pair easily and from then on, as soon as you turn it on, it connects to your AirPods instantly. Great experience being wire free in the seat. Battery life seems great - I mostly had mine plugged into the seat usb charger as well, charges whilst in use. Nice to be able to just leave it wired in, turn on and off as needed, freedom to move around without the wires. Planning on using these with my guitar amp for quieter practice sessions!
