Carafe Flame Proof Glass Kettle With Stainer, 1L, transparent (IH11KF09210)

Been using this for a month and a half or so now, primarily to boil milk everyday. I use it mostly in the microwave, but have used it on the stovetop a couple of times. What I love is that it doesn't burn the milk if I repeatedly reheat milk. Steel vessels invariably burn the milk a little making it difficult to clean. The good news is - it hasn't cracked or broken. But note that I do use it with some precautions: 1) Don't put fridge-cold milk in it and keep it on a high flame. If possible, after you take cold milk from the fridge, let it stay out for 30 minutes till it is not as cold. OR heat it on a low flame or low power for a minute or two. 2) Don't take it from a hot environment (stove top or microwave) right after the milk/water boils and put it on a cold granite counter or cold steel plate. Let it stay on the stove or in the microwave for 5-10 minutes - pick it up and pour out the milk or tea into a cup and put it back in the same place. 3) When it's on the stove make sure the handle is not directly exposed to the flame - rotate the handle away from adjacent flames. I wash it in the dishwasher, comes out sparking clean with no traces of milk. So I am really loving he versatility of this product! Note that after about 20days of use, the plastic handle snapped. I contacted Amazon customer service. They asked me to email the seller cloudtail, who put me in touch with borosil's customer service. And within a week or 10 days - I received a replacement handle. Good service. Efficient. I easily replaced the broken handle on the glass body and my carafe was as good as new! Now I'm again using it as before - microwave, stove, and dishwasher. All is well.

At first I used the carafe on the stove top very carefully on simmer only, half expecting it to shatter, but after a few months of use I've grown so confident with it that I use it on regular flame and sometimes even forget it's on the stove and leave it boiling water for quite a while before taking it off the flame. It's passed the test with flying colours. It boils water quickly enough and looks beautiful on the stove. Fantastic product from Borosil! Update after about six months of daily usage: It cracked very gracefully while boiling a small quantity of water (about 250ml). The water didn't leak out of the kettle - I just heard it crack and the flame sizzled for a second.

The product is very useful. Finally no need to use strainer and utensils. Easy to wash. If one handle it properly it will serve you well. Pros: Light weight and good looking Handle is good to hold without damaging your hand Easy to wash (all though I used it for liquor only without milk) Do use the stand provided with the product to avoid scratches or any damage. Can serve 4 good cup of tea Cons: Fragile, use it with care Do not rinse immediately after taking off from oven or microwave Use it in low to medium flame Do not put empty product in the heat or microwave Please follow the "how to use" instructions on the box before start using. This product is not for rough handling like we do in stainless products for obvious reasons. It costs 625 but bought it in the great Indian festival only for 475😀

Borosil - Carafe Flame Proof Glass Kettle (1 L) was found to be having manufacturing defect. The plastic handle has become loose after using for barely a month, and plastic adjustment screen has come out broken. The Glass kettle is fine, but the plastic handle and adjustment screw are the weak spots. It gets loose and screw snaps. Beware of buying this product from Borosil.

While the item was placed today evening for making tea on the Gas woven, it broke down. I am useing Borosil items for more than 32 years. But today was frustrated and dejected by the item's performance. Even my Gas woven was badly affected.I would like Amazon to replace the item.

Weird burning smell came out from it after been used in Microwave few times but it suppose to be microwave proof and strainer's hole are too big that they can't even strain tea leaves. I am demanding an refund for this item.

Was waiting for a burner friendly carafe for long time and got it from Amazon
