Great Healthy Snack-Please note-NOT STALE
Yummy treat! Please do not eat these straight out of bag-They are meant to be heated up- Either in pan or air fryer---I use either Avocado oil or EVOO---I use Trader Joe's Umami seasoning--Braggs Aminos taste good on it too-any favorite seasoning will work--move it around pan lightly brown both sides-maybe 5+ mins or so medium heat-shuffle around pan a few times-In air fryer I put in tin foil "boat" oil lightly close boat so little fox nuts can't get out but open enough for air to get in.....May take a few tries to find your right yum---Great alternative to popcorn!

There’s a hint of manure
Well, I wasn’t expecting these to be not only stale but also have a slight taste of manure?!!! Am I missing something?

Could have been better
Had issues with quality. Some seeds were too salty. I also found a hair in one of the packets I ordered.

So convenient and puffy yums!
I've heard about Phool Makhana and always wanted to try it out. Thankfully it comes in this form, pre toasted and ready to go, for someone like me, who's just getting into playing around with different snacks and dishes that may be beneficial to my health. At first I was going to start small, and make a little snack with Kashmiri chili, garlic and butter (I ran out of ghee and coconut oil), but then the texture reminded me of this caramel puff corn I make, so I decided to go for both. I toasted it up a little bit more for both dishes with butter until they got the right crumble. Then, I mixed up each blend separately, which literally took me minutes. Both are delicious and have a nutty finish I love, along with the crunchy, fluffy texture. Honestly, I was a bit daunted by the size of the bag, but here I am, with 2-3 cups leftover and excited to save the rest to make some chaat another day. Get this, do those things, eat them and you'll love them! I think I'm going to need another bag!

Delicious and Filling
Delicious and filling! I’ve discovered something new to add to my menu! I saw this on-line and decided to give it a try. When it arrived I opened the bag and ate one…and it was like chewing on a styrofoam peanut. Then I googled it and discovered one is supposed to cook them, lol. Oops. So I found a recipe for Phool Makhana Curry and made that for dinner. Hard to go wrong with curry in general. After following instructions and preparing properly, the phool makhana is fabulous. The texture is hard to describe. It is soft and a little bit spongy but not at all slimy and a bit chewy. It’s a pleasant texture. It takes on the flavor of whatever you cook it with, absorbing the sauce creating a flavorful, tender, filling meal. I’m so happy I found this and plan on trying additional recipes with it.

Disgusting
Stale, bland, disgusting, not edible. Waste of my money.

An interesting substitute for popcorn on movie night.
This were an interesting alternative to popcorn for us. I looked up very carefully how to prepare them and ended up frying them in ghee, which was a great butter substitute. I then used one of our many popcorn seasonings as a topper and they were tasty and crunchy.

Neutral Flavor
These puffed “fox nuts”/phool makhana have a neutral flavor. They make a good snack or are even better sprinkled over a stew/soup/salad.
