Arology sanding sponges are designed for sanding wood, paint, metal, plastic or drywall. These sponges are made with mix grit - 1 fine, 1 medium, 1 coarse., durable and flexible foam. The block shape makes it easy to hold and sands flat, contoured, or irregular surfaces. Sanding is an integral step in preparing a surface to receive a coating. For the best sanding results, sand with the grain of the surface and work through a sequence of grits, from coarse to very fine, skipping no more than one grit between each sanding step.

Great for Distressing Wood Furniture
I recently painted then distressed a wood desk. I was going for a rustic distressed look, although I admit there is something that just feels wrong about painting a piece of furniture and then rubbing the paint off with sandpaper.I liked that this came with three sturdy sanding spongers, one coarse, one medium and one fine. I used the coarse block first to distress the areas of the table where I wanted to the underlying wood to come through, used the medium block for the table legs with paint that wasn't as thick, and the fine block for the top of the table.For the finish I was going for, these were great, and were sturdier and easy to handle when compared to the thin, flimsy single ply sandpaper.

Great for one use
Great look and feel but grit rubbed right off first sanding job. I did not read that only good for one piece/project. Just rubbed right off. Must be the Florida 100% humidity.
