It works great for me
I wanted a dash-attached screen in my car for navigating with my phone apps, and this was a great way to get that. I went to a big box electronics store to get an estimate for installing a carplay-compatible head unit in my vehicle and it would have cost at least $700 or more. So, getting all of these features for about $40+ is a bargain. I've been using it for close to a year and have had no problems. I didn't want to stick an adhesive mount to my dash so I purchased a DVD-slot mount separately and this unit mounts directly to that using the same 4-prong mount on the back of the unit. by far the biggest challenge was mounting and connecting the rear camera. I had to fashion a small metal plate that attaches to the license plate screws, and I had to strip and tap into a reverse light power to send power to the reverse camera, but now the reverse view turns on when I go into reverse, and I love having that too. I have a pickup and the tailgate limited my rear camera mounting options, but if you have a car you'll have more mounting options and probably easier access to accessing power and routing your wire to the head unit. But, if you don't care about installing the rear camera, you can have this thing mounted to your dash and ready to use in just a few minutes. I have the unit powered with the accessory power plug that came with it and I used twist ties to organize the power cable, the 3.5mm aux output and the rear camera cable as best I could. If you are a stickler for not having a bunch of wires hanging on your dash you might invest some effort into cable organizing.

Bricked Unit After Update Attempt
I bought this Capapro 7" Portable CarPlay screen a short time ago because of the good initial reviews and the claim of "reliable technical support." I followed the built-in online upgrade process exactly as instructed and used the official IVT244.img file provided by the device's own QR code. After the update completed, the screen is now completely unusable: it shows only a solid blue background with a thick horizontal line and visible scan lines. The backlight works, but there is no menu, no touch response, and no way to access CarPlay or settings. I tried: Extended power drains and resets (unplugged for 30+ minutes multiple times) USB recovery attempts with the same firmware file Checking for the device's Wi-Fi hotspot (none appears) When I opened the unit to investigate further, the board is an Allwinner F133-B with PCB revision F18_V5.0_20250221 and shield marking JL-M70B013-N22WS-T503518. There is no physical reset button! They removed it, as though it's a cost saving measure! I have been unable to contact the seller for the correct matching recovery firmware. There is no "Contact Seller" button visible on the product page or my order, and no direct support email or phone is provided despite the product description promising reliable technical support. This unit is now a $43 paperweight after following official instructions. I would like the seller to provide the proper variant-specific firmware or arrange a replacement. Photos of the failed screen and motherboard are available if needed. If you're considering this unit, be aware that the firmware update process can brick it and support appears very limited.

Happy Purchase
originally bought this to install in my SUV, but it ended up being the perfect addition to our golf cart instead! It’s compact, has a bright, easy-to-read touchscreen, and works great with Apple devices. It was simple to set up and does exactly what I needed. I’m very happy with this purchase.

Definitely worth more in today’s standards
So, i love this CarPlay screen. When I bought it I expected it to barely work. But it’s pretty seamless, the window mount especially is really good, the joints could be a little refined and the joint screws too, but once they are tight they hold. The only issues I’m finding with this product is in the day time the screen is really reflective and I can barely see it, I’m going to see if I can get a non reflective film to put on the screen to help with that, the sd card port is a little funky, but it works. The screen mirroring is something I was looking forward to but unfortunately no matter how hard I try I can’t get it to work. But it’s not a big deal because to me the overall functionality and smoothness of the unit overall is really good. The back up cam was about as I expected. Functional, but don’t expect 1080. Expect just enough to back into a spot. You can also have the cam activated while your driving forward kinda like a rear view mirror which is something I really like. I specifically use it when I’m considering brake checking someone 🤭

It works as expected.
Car: 2016 Honda Pilot Audio Connection: AUX Previously, I was using the HondaHack with CarLinkit on the integrated infotainment system in the Pilot. That setup was good as it used the build in screen and the volume and next track buttons on the steering wheel worked. BUT wired connectivity was hit or miss. It would only connect 25% of the time. So that is why I installed this after market screen. It works as expected and connects to my iPhone via wireless (there doesn't seem to be a wired option). It now connects 100% of the time. Two things to be aware of: (1) you may need to buy a feedback filter if using the AUX connection - otherwise you may hear a background hum. (2) If the last connected iPhone is within range (in the house while car is in the driveway), it will not allow you to connect another previously connected iPhone. You will need to drive off and be out of range to connect the other iphone (not sure if this is standard bluetooth behavior or not).
