The first CD is " mixed " - that is the tracks run into each other, but the most important point you should note, is that some/most of the tracks have been shortened ( e.g. Typically Tropical is 59 seconds - Van Halen's Jump is just over two minutes, with an obvious edit at the end ) - The second CD has separate tracks but the songs are a bit obscure - If you want something to slap in the CD player at a party as background, I suppose these two CD's are okay, but mine went in the bin.

No no no no no!
Hmmm... I've got the first two of these and they're both decent compilations of what you might call "yacht rock", soulful soft rock tracks that stand the test of time or those one offs that you'd loved but forgotten about till they popped up on one of these collections. However, if you think about it, it's a great idea but can only be taken so far. I think that point was reached at the end of volume two. Not so much yacht rock here as yucky rock.It comes down to personal choice mostly, there are the odd track or two on the first two volumes which I wish had been left off, but this one is chock full. The Nolans, Hanson, Toni Basil, Hot Butter, Demis Roussos are real low league stuff and then a bunch of average tracks that were big hits but get endless airtime anyway... Steve Miller, Starship, Cyndi Lauper, Bangles, Foreigner and others like Salt n Pepa, Wham, Three Degrees which are just plain average whether you hear them lots or not. Worst of all, John Paul Young (a decent enough track) is already on volume 2! Very cheap! And as for mixing the first CD and reducing the lengths of the songs...No! No no no no no no no no no! As Don Logan says.
