Quiet and attractive design
You're watching that murder mystery, and just as the character says, "That's because the killer is...." Wssssssssshhhhhhhhh someone turns on the faucet. Missed it. Knock knock. Who's there? Interrupting sink. Interrupting sink Wssssssssshhhhhhhhh. This problem plagued our family for nigh a generation, but no longer. This item attached perfectly to the sink nearest the TV, and provides excellent flow. I expect to replace several faucet attachments with these. In fact, the flow gives a more refined look and sound to the water, which I previously ignored, that more closely matches the high-end faucets that were rendered cheap sounding and looking by the aerating attachments of old.Be warned this will increase water flow, filling a 12-ounch glass for us in three seconds now, down from closer to six. That means higher water usage and bills, but we also found for hand and dish washing, we no longer need to turn the water on full, so it will likely balance out over time.

I LOVE this. I wish that I had known about ...
Silence is golden. I LOVE this. I wish that I had known about this simple mod years ago. Now the only thing that I hear is the occasional high-pitched whine/squeal from the faucet's valve. (Time to get a new faucet.)For those of you that are worried about this using more water, it doesn't. I tested this on both my kitchen sink and my bathroom sink. I timed filling a gallon milk jug. This flows the same amount as the faucet's stock aerator. In my bathroom, with no aerator, it took 14 seconds. With the stock aerator it took 34 seconds. With this Whedon LA1C, it took the same 34 seconds. It actually flowed slightly less in my kitchen. No aerator took 21 seconds. Stock aerator took 33 seconds. Whedon took 39 seconds. So about a 20% drop in flow. What they don't show you with a photo is that this aerator has a fine red mesh which limits the flow. If you want a non-restricting full flow laminar aerator, get the Kohler K-88226-SR. It took the same time, 14 seconds, as not having no aerator at all. Also, most aerators (the plastic internal parts) are a typical size. You may be able to just swap the aerator out of this in to the faucet tip on your existing faucet.BTW, I have regular city water pressure. I didn't test it but I'm guessing 50-60psi.

It's a 1.8 GPM laminar outlet - no aeration
The product listing does not say what the flow rate is. The package that arrived says that it's a 1.8 GPM outlet and I am confirming that it does not aerate the water stream from the faucet. It's a true laminar outlet, crystal clear water and very very quiet. It would have been nice for someone to actually list the GPM rating - or for Amazon to get with the 21st century and make a better search engine for its products.

Excellent product
I bought one other from a different brand and it was not laminar flow. This one is true laminar flow and is awesome.

Design change alert!
I’ve purchased six of these in the past. All excellent. Very quiet and relatively good flow. The new design is as noisy as an aerator, so why even bother changing your OEM aerator. The flow is slightly better than the original laminar flow model, but less than standard aerator so this one’s basically junk. The easy way to identify old from new is the color of the top of the insert. Old is opaque red and new is white nylon with a blue insert. I gave two stars because the materials used seem good enough, but the new design is lousy.

Laminar Flow Is The Way To Go!
My standard bathroom faucet attachment, an aerator, got gunked up again, and thus clogged. The mineral deposits build up on the bottom where the metal mesh is, and around the top edge. This is because water remains inside the attachment when you turn off the water. When this happens, you can either clean the aerator, or buy a new one. I decided it was time to buy a new one. After doing research I found a lot of people are preferring Laminar Flow attachments rather than the traditional aerators. The traditional aerator makes it where 50% air and 50% water comes out of the spout. Laminar Flow is where no air is mixed in...so you get just all soft luxuriously feeling water. (For the best feeling and effectiveness, you want the attachment to allow up to 2.2 gallons per minute of water, as this Whedon Laminar Flow Non-Aerating Attachment does.)I love this attachment, and I'll never go back to an aerating one again. The feeling of the water is so nice. Soap rinses off very fast. This attachment is easy to install, as I just screwed it on turning by hand.I highly recommend this faucet attachment and feel you will not be sorry.

Not as described
The first one ordered had 1.8 GPM max flow. It is lower than the advertised. Ordered again, still handed wrong ones.I don’t think this company care about their products’ description.

Laminar flow is awesome!
I watched a video a long time ago on YouTube about someone explaining laminar flow. A while later I decided I needed to get a new spigot for my bathroom faucet because it was loud and water always went everywhere. I thought about laminar flow and decided to look for one that would do just that. I ended up finding this one not long after and it works really well. I've had it for a long time now and it still is pumping water out like it did when I first got it. Highly recommend
