I have 3 stage under sink filter system from Anchor that takes 1 sediment filter and 2 same carbon filters.It was just time to replace the filters, and I had one last sediment filter left, so before I buy more from Anchor, I decided to try this.The Anchor filter looked just like any other standard 2.5 inch OD x 10 inch filters.Although this filter didn't mention my brand, it looked like the same size, so I tried it.I don't know much about what grooves do for filteration, but this filter fit just like the original. No fitting issues.It also has 5 micron filteration just like the Anchor one.One thing I noted was this filter was heavier than my original one.The original from Anchor was 125g while this one was 150g. So maybe this has more filter material, and it could mean its quality is better.I used this for about two weeks, and I didn't see any difference, which is a good thing.If I suddenly experienced higher water pressure, lower water pressure, different water taste, etc, it could be an alarming sign, but nothing like that.The taste of water seems bit better, but it could be just because I replaced all the filters.So far, I like this.For this kind of stuff, no problem deserves 5 stars.

For our RV, we use a dual canister filter system that holds 10"x2.5" filters. We are filtering well water that is quite good already. The first is a 5 micron filter that gets the basics, followed by a 1 micron activated carbon/carbon block filter that takes case of the taste and remaining stuff.This filter is a good structure and similar to the other 5 micron filters we were using. However these have the advantage of having the ribbed lines on them. This increases the surface area of the filter by a decent amount, providing additional filtration compared to our smooth ones. Pleased with this filter.

I currently use these in an off-grid well water system. It is VERY sandy and so far these have done a good job keeping the sand and sediment out of the water system. This 5-micron filter, sized at 10" x 2.5", effectively traps sediment and particulate matter, improving water quality and protecting your plumbing and appliances.
