Central Brass1177-DA Two Handle Shelf Back Bathroom Faucet in Chrome

Its hard to find this style faucet anymore and was a real life saver to keep the appearance and charm of a very old sink. Central Brass products last a very long time and are built to be serviceable. But eventually what was "OEM" to the house needed to be replaced.The fixture was easy to install. The only thing I had to change was the direction of "on and off" was reversed for hot and cold valves respectively. This is easy enough to rectify by switching the valve inserts (which you can do with this fixture) using a wrench. Once that was done, the rest of the installation was very simple.

Real easy assembly

This allowed me to retain my 1950’s homes’ original bath sink. The vertical back-wall of that sink had “cast in” openings for original faucets which had become difficult to repair, often leaky old-style washer-types, and the chrome had begun to flake off the brass from over a half-century of cleaning. These new faucets are sufficiently adjustable to allow renewed use of the old antique sink. I had to “Plug” the original stopper-bottom-opening in the over-flow channel, as this product does not need it…but that was a simple matter to put a solid rubber plug in the old hardware. Wife is very pleased as am I.

I have a 1960's (maybe 1958?) yellow sink that matches a yellow toilet and a yellow tub. Although old, everything still looks nice. The hardware on the tub/shower was replaced long ago, the toilet hardware maybe 3 times or more over the last 6 decades. Yet, the sink was in dire need of hardware replacement for quite some time. I researched for many hours and could only find this as a viable replacement. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see the quality of the parts in the hardware kit. Our sink is kind of an odd-ball design and antiquated to say the least, but the parts are made as universally as possible, so I was able to make it work with a little ingenuity. I suspect that's how it will be for you if you purchase this. The main modification I had to make was trim the drain washer's thickness in order to make the threads connect. I also had to drill a hole thru the sink above the spigot for the pull that closes off the drain, but that was no big deal. This item might require flexibility and some imagination to make work. However, the customer service were very helpful and directed me to their prints and explained some of the installation I was fuzzy on. In short, they really came thru for me and I feel I got the best possible part for what I needed. I recommend this to anyone!Dave

Easy to assemble faucet portion of the kit. Put everything together easy enough. Tested it, and it begins leaking from the cast portion of the drain…. Making me go and purchase a new one, on an already expensive enough kit. Can’t complain about the look or the simplicity. The quality of the cast metal was garbage, likely won’t be buying something like this over the internet again… fool me once

This faucet set in commercial quality. Several levels higher than you will find at the home improvement box stores. Very Pleased with my purchase ! i predict it will last a very long time.everything you need is included except plumbers putty and teflon tape. It's Well made in America.I will buy from this company again. Quaiity parts, fast delivery, functions beautifully, fits perfectly at a Great price. I Highly recommend.

I had an original 1950s bathroom sink faucet start leaking on me. Turns out the seats had gotten chewed up over the years in the valves. This was the only thing I could find that was a fit. Not a huge fan of to much adjustment as it can make it harder to install but being able to adjust the length in between the valves was super helpful. Wouldn't have worked otherwise. I will say the lever for the drain plug is off a little and I had to drill a bigger hole to get it to work smoothly. Great product so far and it fit were non else would!
