Welcome back to Lovewell, Maine!Just when I thought my love of the Gagnon men couldn’t be matched, we meet Owen Hebert and all bets are off. Daphne knows how to write an MMC that will make you melt and an FMC who knows just how to keep that man in line.To say Owen is the perfect book boyfriend is probably an understatement. He is kind, understanding, attentive and so patient with Lila. Once a Hebert man falls, there is literally no one else in the world for him.I had so much admiration for Lila. She is fiercely loyal, loves a cocktail and a delicious latte, and is fighting so hard for her independence. I didn’t agree with her wanting to keep her relationship with Owen under wraps, but I understood it.One thing I thought was missing from this one is the suspense sub-plot. I thought this element of the Lovewell Lumberjacks series was so well done, I’m looking forward to it here as well. Since this was just the first in the series I think it’s coming, so this is adding to my excitement for the future releases.Caught in the Axe was such a strong start to the Maine Lumberjacks series and I can’t wait to see what’s next for our favourite bad boys of timber. I loved the cameos from some of our Lovewell and Boston faves! Plus, that sneaky epilogue cliffhanger for book two will have me blowing up Daphne’s DMs for insider info until it releases! 😂Thank you to Daphne Elliot and The Author Agency. I thought I could only love the Gagnon’s but the Herbert’s are giving them a run for their money…. Love the lumber’snack’ series and of course Clive is such a moose-hole!

This love story is so amazing and the character development is amazing. This book really makes you want to keep reading the series. I am so ready for the next book!
