The Rough Guide to the Velvet Underground (Rough Guide Reference)

Good reading and lots of information. I've bought it as I also bought the Velvet Underground & Nico deluxe edition. So it was at a good price I'me pleased with it.

I really, really enjoyed this Velvets book. A lot of scholarship & research, beautifully presented. I admired the pacing: it rollocks along at a fair old nip most of the time but it also slows down to follow intruguing byways. The authorial voice was pefectly judged: he has opinions but seems more concerned about helping the reader into the music. It`s an extraordinary story about extraordinary people who made some brilliant, brilliant tunes.
