Branston Original Pickle, 360 g

Branston Pickle is a timeless flavor bomb. Since childhood, my favorite sandwich has been cheese and pickle made using the classic Branston pickle. It is also a great condiment for cold meats and cheeses. Its flavor is a little sweet, a little tangy and leans more savory side. Its texture is much like a thick chutney. It is surprisingly tasty when spread on an apple slice accompanied with a piece of sharp cheddar cheese. Really lovely.

I bought this out of curiosity. Glad I did It is good on cheese, grilled or plain, sandwiches and I’ve tried it on chicken salad. It’s also pretty good on cheese and crackers. A little hard to describe the taste but I like the flavor and the crunchiness.

very very salty and sweet, vegetable taste unpleasant, this is quite a bit like ketchup but worse in every way a bit runny a bit chunky with vegetable bits overall texture not uniform or pleasant also apparently the lid was not put on tight at the factory it arrived having leaked

Arrived in perfectly fine shape, packaged properly, seals intact, top not popped, product dated plenty of time within the expiration date. I'm sure shipping problems could happen..... but did not happen to me! After watching Lovejoy on BritBox, we decided to try a cheese and pickle sandwich. Bought some Irish butter, and some super sharp cheddar. The taste of this.... well let's just say, is unique. My wife thought it was good but I think she's swayed by the novelty of it. I can get behind the beans and toast. Or the bacon bap. This, I'm not too sure. It's essentially a vinegar-based relish that has some sweet notes. While plenty of savory, some of the sweet makes it taste off. I don't quite get it.... but will try a second time to give it a fair shake. This hits like many foreign foods that haven't been Americanized, where the taste is so strange, I'm not quite sure what to think.... To be clear, my rating isn't really based on taste.... but that I think what was delivered was what the manufacturer intended.... Do I LOVE this, yeah that's still TBD....YMMV.

I just love this stuff!!!! Sweet and tangy at the same time. Thumbs up for cheese and pickle sandwiches. And no….Im not British.

I gave it a 3 because to be honest. I didnt like the flavor 😅. I only purchased it because Im a follower and Courtney Cook eats it. Lol. My clients like it though.

Its a nice pickle relish, my husband really enjoys it.

Too expensive in Japan, but huge fan of Branston and miss eating it more often.

I saw an Italian Chef on the food Network say his favourite sandwich was cheese and pickle from the UK. I looked it up and saw it was made with this as the pickle. I love this toasted, not toasted, on whole wheat bread and even boring white bread made me so very happy, will be buying again. Also have to say how quickly I got this from the UK (before the covid lockdowns) made me very happy too.
