Quite simply this book covers some great basic information, with step by step instructions and practical applications in an easy to read format that has pictures and little quizzes to reinforce the information. The links to videos for more information is a nice touch. By adding the quizzes and little random fun facts etc, the author made it more engaging for you get readers without oversimplifying it and turning off adults. Well done

I purchased this book for my kiddos to supplement some of what I teach them. I feel the book is well written and engaging. My kiddos love experimenting in general and will have fun trying out some of the lesser known fire making techniques during camping trips. I also think the QR Codes are an amazing idea for kiddos that learn better visually and auditorily than by reading, making the information accessible to more kiddos overall.

I feel this is more for older children or even adults who need the basics on what to do and/or not do. Perfect for those who are interested in the pursuit of understanding how to forage, have fun, and be safe in our great outdoor world.

This guidebook is incredible. All the information you'd ever need packed into one EPIC book!My kids LOVED the pictures, quizzes, and accopanying videos! I never thought I'd see the day my kids would put down their phones for so long lol.I'd argue any kids could learn from this. I can see why the author would want 11+ since it is outdoors nature survival. But fear not if your child is younger since they'd also enjoy this book .What a fun book!

This book is a great overview of knowledge necessary to be able to survive in various situations, perfect for young people interested in the outdoors for the first time. It explains all the things needed to provide protection against the elements. How to make and keep fires for warmth, how to build shelter, find water, natural food sources and how to call or signal for help. Everything is covered in order to provide a clear and concise game plan in case of emergency survival. A perfect handbook of all the information needed. Definitely a must have source of sustainability in many harsh outdoor conditions. Written well, useful for kids and adults alike!
