Fits Vision Kamado Professional Ceramic Charcoal Grill (images attached)
It was frustrating and time-consuming trying to identify the correct thermostat for my Vision Orange Egg, but this is the right one. My egg sees heavy use and it is the best BBQ grill that I have ever owned in terms of functionality, aesthetics, and ease. Unfortunately, the combination of planned obsolescence and frequent Miami rain has taken a toll on my beloved egg (even with a cover). This morning I repaired four problems that near-simultaneously came to roost in my grill, although the thermostat hasn't functioned properly since year three (the needle simply went flaccid--which apparently happens to elderly needles). It took me less than three minutes to switch-out the thermometer and it fits perfectly (be sure to lock the retainer clip in place). There are other things that need doing when your egg succumbs to entropy and I recommend knocking them out simultaneously: replace the bowl seals (upper and lower), replace the brittle vent knob, and replace the deteriorating ash pan (this last is beyond the skill of most readers, so have one fabricated in stainless steel--it's not expensive). I have always used an electric starter and therefore the ceramic bowl has absorbed the unadulterated vapors of hundreds of BBQ events and spilled Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, therefore making it priceless. The cheapskates at Vision could have built an egg grill that would last almost forever, but where's the money in that? They don't sell replacement parts either--which really chaps my hide. Since I studied Metallurgical Engineering at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, I have upgraded my egg using a la carte Amazon items and used household gear so that it will probably outlive me. The cheap, ill-designed plastic paddle knob on the dome vent will break off in your hand after a couple of years, so I replaced mine with an old steak knife, which gives better leverage and keeps your knuckles further away from the minor burns that I have sustained redundantly because I grill with Sierra Nevada in its myriad ale manifestations. I am a retired Marine, don't try this at home, kids. Replacing the bowl seals (available on Amazon, but associated with a different BBQ) can also be rapidly accomplished while intoxicated. All you need is a putty knife and the charred upper and lower seals peel right off. The replacement seals come with three acetone wipes, which beautifully remove what remains of the legacy seals in seconds. Be sure to line-up the new seals with the inside edge of the bowl as you go around. The new seal will protrude about 1/4" from the outside diameter of the egg, but it doesn't hurt anything and it's not unsightly. If you aren't drinking Sierra Nevada, you could probably trim it with a scalpel, but I am only willing to spill blood for, well, Sierra Nevada.

We needed a replacement
The hail hit our thermometer so this looked like a good replacement. Works well, easy to install. Only problem is the dial is a little harder to read than the old due to it’s darker colors.

For Big Green Egg Use
Four stars are based on my needs and wants. Unit is as advertised and has worked well so far so a 5 would be fairer. I used this in a Green Egg. I bought it based on temperature range and reviews. The gauge is too small for my taste. It’s a bit hard to read and calibrate although trying to get it within 2 or 3 degrees is a bit anal retentive for a smoker/grill. The big thing is the range/durability which is still TBD. I was a dummy and allowed the grill to get too hot for the original thermometer (my guess is somewhere between 1100 and 1300 degrees F). The price was right so points for that.

accurate temp gauge
works very well with my big green egg as a replacement temp gauge , fit just like oem . accurate readings as well, will have to see over time how this will hold up to regular use & heat .

Great but could be a little bigger
Very accurate and okay to read because if the dial colors. It would be better if it was bigger. I bought it for the anticipated accuracy, so I’d buy it again if I needed one.

Great grill temp guage
This item arrived next day. I used it a couple of days later to smoke some chicken and it was great at assisting keeping my egg at the right temp. The face is big and well marked. This is the 3rd gauge i have had to replace. I hope this one works better then the original OEM ones i have owned.

Great replacement for the BGE thermometer!
The higher temp range is great for my BGE. And the price was outstanding! Calibration was off just a scouse (as in just 1 needle width @ 212F). Close enough not to worry about trying to adjust it. And the reduced length of the probe from what came with the BGE means I won't be having to worry as much about it when cooking big birds. Would highly recommend.
