Beautiful Craftsmanship and Solid Performance
The craftsmanship on this rod is absolutely top-notch. From the moment you take it out of the case, you can tell it’s made with care and attention to detail. As someone who really appreciates quality gear, I was impressed right away.Out on the water, this rod performs just as well as it looks. The casting is smooth and accurate, with a great feel and balance in hand. It loads well and delivers a clean presentation without much effort. I’ve used it primarily on the North Platte River in Wyoming and had excellent success with it—plenty of control even in variable conditions, and the backbone to handle feisty trout. The weight feels just right for all-day use, and I had no issues with fatigue or strain after long sessions. It’s clear Moonshine Rod Co. knows what they're doing. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or just looking for a rod that will help you grow in the sport, this is a rock-solid choice and a great value. The weight and size of the rod are perfect for larger rivers. It's not the best choice for fishing small rivers and creeks but for decent sized fish this is a great option.Highly recommend—beautiful rod, reliable performance, and a great company behind it.

AWESOME - very sensitive feel for a rod at a 1/3 the price of my fancy rod I broke!
I broke my very costly and only Euro Rod (Tip only) and had to send it away for repair, and it's going to take 6 weeks or more to get it back to me.Got the 10'4'' 2WT Epiphany Euro Rod and used it right away, and WOW, I like it better than my other rod already! The sensitivity is awesome, and after catching over a dozen trout on it in a few hrs, I think I will sell my other rod now. I love the fact that you get an extra tip included so you can stay fishing even when you have a mishap like I had.Highly recommend this product! Great value for the money.

Love the action of this rod!
I bought the Moonshine rod based on the recommendation of a fellow fly fishing buddy. I love the rod and the carrying case. The extra rod tip is a bonus. The only rod I have ever broken I broke the tip so hopefully I'll be prepared in the event that were to occur on an extended fishing trip.

Solid Value. Works as a back-up, an entry-level or an every day...
Lots of reviews and commentary about Moonshine - - - here's what I can tell you. I purchased a 3 and 4-wt drifter, and then another 3wt as a gift for a family member. Aesthetically, the rods look really good. The case works, and you can't beat getting the extra tip. I've fished both the 3 and 4 wt in skinny water and small rivers throughout IL & WI for mostly brown and brook trout, plus smallies and the unintentional rock bass / blue gill. One of the complaints I've read is that the rods feel heavy and stiff, some said it felt like casting a log... I didn't find this to be the case - - - I fished multiple sessions, days at a time, and never felt the weight of the rod to be heavy or clumsy. Casting, I was able to target pockets with accuracy ( relative to my own skills ). In many cases, the rods provided me with enough confidence to pursue to a few fairly ambitious targets, which paid off with strikes and landed fish, time and time again. I can't say much about backbone, as my target species were typically 8" to 12" browns - - - that said, i did handle a 15" brown to hand on the 4wt, and a thick 14" smallie as well. Never did i experience any breaking, splintering, or any other complaints other users have had...Overall, after one season, I'm a fan of the moonshine rods. I'm not going to say I'd take them over St. Croix, G. Loomis, Sage, etc... but I found them to do the job, especially for skinny water trout.

Not same rod as picture
I ordered the “revival” 4wt, 7’6”. Overall craftsman ship is nice. Rod pictured is not the same as rod received. I believe moonshine has since updated the “revival,” in fact I believe it is now discontinued altogether. Rod received had different cork which is not as nice as pictured cork, reel uplock hardware is black not silver, and first foot of glass about cork is also black. See pics on moonshine website, those are an accurate depiction of rod sent. IMO, the old aesthetic was much prettier.Feel of rod is great, super lightweight, full flex and traditional feeling glass action and sensitivity. Happy with purchase, just wish it matched pics on Amazon web store.
