Beautiful product.....

I bought this gate hook as a replacement for a steel hook . At this price I was suspicious, but, I was pleasantly surprised upon receipt. It is as advertised. The assembly is polished and sturdy enough. It took minutes to fit and works perfectly well. There are a few minor manufacturing marks, but nothing that detracts. Word of advice - as with all solid brass fixtures and fittings, if you're using this outdoors, coat with clear sealer after fitting to resist the inevitable onset of tarnish.

Strong brass latch. Can be used to hold a door or window open or closed. Works both under tension and compression.for example i didn't want to have this inside my house and my door swings inwards. so i placed the hook element on the wall outside and the hole bit on the door. Now i open my door in ways and hook it into place from the outside. works a treat.seems strong enough for this sort of application and seems to have resisted the weather thus far.

The screws it came with are fairly soft metal, and I couldn't use a couple of them as my screwdriver just stripped the head. But overall very happy with the hook and catch.

Great product, feels solid and heavy. Packaging also sturdy.Hook fits into hole perfectly snugly. But no screws! At least tell us what size to order separately.

Although it says this is solid brass there is obviously some flaw in the casting. The hook end fractured and broke off. There was no excessive weight on the hook either. Shame as it seems quite decent at first. Maybe mine was just a bad cast one. Will return.
