Does job right, but increases heat.
Didn't have much of a smell and seems to be working well. Spilled a little coffee in my bed and when I removed the fitted sheet, the coffee wiped right off the protective case without leaving a stain. Doesn't make crinkly noises either, which is nice. The only negative would be that I feel like it's made my mattress feel hotter. I've been sleeping with a towel under my for weeks to deal with it or often switch to my side to cool off. It's been warmer lately so I'm not sure how it will come fall/winter. I don't know how that would be otherwise avoided though. A waterproof cover will always be nonbreathable...but it's also the only way to keep a mattress warranty intact.

Dont waste your money on purecare
Do not waste your money on this brand of mattress protector the way they have there warranty written is that it only covers light stains. I sweat alot when I sleep and it is in there warranty that they won't cover sweat stains or body oils. I wasted my money by buying it thinking that it would protect my mattress and didn't.
