Good fit for Alorair HD55S
Only my opinion here. This filter appears more dense looking as compared to the MERV-1 standard filter that ships with the Alorair HD55S. The saying "you can't get something for nothing" may apply here. What you gain in filtration, you lose in airflow. In a dehumifier, less airflow will likely result in less efficient dehumidification. The Alorair HD55S is energy star rated, but installing a MERV-8 filter may cause it to no longer meet this certification. Only the manufatcurer would know for sure. I am using this filter for added protection for the coils, to help from intaking too many fine dust particles. So far It appears to function the same as it did with the original MERV-1 filter. So I will continue to use it.
