Excellent for detangling and travel
The media could not be loaded. Could not be happier about my purchase. I already own an Ibiza Airwave for my everyday brush, so I was thrilled when they came out with this detangling brush that is super travel friendly. I just leave this in my suitcase now. It’s easy to clean and a bonus that it’s eco-friendly since it’s made with biodegradable coffee grounds. No, it doesn’t smell like coffee.

Lightweight, Easy to Hold and Control, Perfect Purse Brush, Made from Biodegradable Coffee Grounds
I'm reviewing Ibiza Hair - Aloha-Series KT7 Kona Travel Brush, - Vented Mini Hairbrush for Detangling, Perfect for Purse or Travel, Black. This brush is perfect for me. I've been looking for a smaller brush to tuck in my purse. This doesn't have a handle, so there's more bristle area compared other travel size brushes. For me the bristles on this brush are just perfect. They aren't too close together, but close enough. The bristles are sturdy yet flexible and each one has a round ball on the end making them comfortable on my scalp and effective at gliding though my hair. The brush itself is lightweight, so even though it takes up a bit of space in my purse, it's not adding much weight.I like the way it fits my hand. The curved side edges give me a secure place to grasp and control this brush.I have long waist length hair and find that this brush detangles my hair without damage, and there's less pulling than with most other brushes I've tried. Very little hair is caught in this brush, but what little hair there is, I found to be easy to remove to clean the brush. It can be used on dry or wet hair.I appreciate that this brush is made from biodegradable coffee grounds. (Even though it's called the Kona travel brush, nothing indicates it's made from Hawaiian Kona coffee grounds, and is doubtful since it's made in China.) The base of this brush is black with golden brown flecks (see photos). I'm not sure if the flecks are from the coffee grounds, but it's a lovely color. This brush is unscented, with no coffee smell.Because this is made of biodegradable materials, it's not suitable or recommended for use with a hair dryer. Because there's no handle on this brush, I wouldn't attempt to use it with a hair dryer anyway. As a side note, this Ibiza Hair - Aloha-Series KT7 Kona Travel Brush is designed in Hawaii and made in China.

Easy on knots and tangles and good for travel
This brush is great for travel. For vacation, gym days, overnights, or to just toss in a handbag. Its size makes it convenient for travel. It’s small enough to fit into my palm and the shape of it makes it easy to hold and brush through hair. The bristles on this brush are not as strong as others but it is easier on knots and tangles than the stronger bristle brushes. It does work well at removing knots with less pain which is great for my kids. I like the look of this brush and I like the size as it’s easier to travel with than with a handle brush.

Great for thick hair
I always struggle to find the perfect hairbrush. This one works great for my thick and wavy hair. It doesn't get stuck in knots or yank my hair. It glides through nicely, picking up any loose strands in the process. Easy to clean and lightweight

Work great and looks lovely
This Ibiza Hair Aloha-Series KV1 Kona Vent Brush is lovely for detangling wet or dry hair. I have relatively fine hair that likes to become knotted up with the slightest of movement, but this brush has helped me detangle my hair without it taking forever or it just ripping though the knots. The handle feels sturdy and comfortable to hold. I don't worry about it breaking or falling apart on me.The package does warn that it is not for use with temperatures over 175 F so this isn't great for most blow driers, but as someone who rarely uses them, this works great for me.The Polynesian design is beautiful, but I would like to know more about who designed it and their connection to Polynesian culture. There is a lot of important significance to the various designs so being respectful of that is worthwhile in my opinion. If they partnered with a Polynesian artist to design it, awesome. If they just decided to make their own Polynesian designs without any input from actual Polynesians, then that is less than awesome.I like the repurposing of the old coffee grounds, but I'm unclear if the brush itself is biodegradable or if it just used coffee grounds that were biodegradable, but through the process of becoming the hair brush, loose that ability. Either is a step in the right direction, but without clarity of which one is the case, it feels more in the realm of greenwashing rather than genuine environmental improvement.
