Nebraska Star Beef Angus Ground Beef

Considering how bare the shelves were and the high quality of this product, I consider the price paid for this order to have been a bargain. It was very nice knowing we just had to walk to the freezer and thaw out a lb of beef for dinner, not brave the wilds of the grocery. Everything we made with this beef was excellent, but due to its leanness, it shines the most when some savory moisture is added. Meatloaf, lasagna, and enchiladas were favorites.

My son and i were gifted this pkg of beef on the return of my sons hospitilization. Was complaining he wanted a burger after eating hospital food. Upon thawing out was met with bloody gore. The meat was so greasy i could'nt even form it into burger patties. Was a total grease bomb which i had to throw out. All pkg thrown( about 12.) I have high cholesterol so no way am i gonna serve this. I notified company to within the allotted 48 hrs only to be told you bought it you eat it. I contacted amazon only to be told my ex did'nt say it was a gift so they can do nothing. What!! Was not aware it was ordered through amazon but is shipped directly from nabraska beef. $174.00 for total grease🤢

Defenitly bulk meat, doesnt taste bad, but doesnt have that fresh chop meat taste, but its not bad, good for if you need to buy bulk meat for events or such

Trust me there is a difference between grocery store burger and this beef! I always get a lot of compliments on my burgers when I use Nebraska Star's burger. I also ordered steaks from them and had great results. Don't thaw in the microwave and don't overcook the meat. I like my burgers a little pink but to each their own. Overcooking kills the flavor and dries out the meat in my opinion. I will buy this product again! It's not my everyday burger but I do spend on a special occasion.

I have noticed little to no benefit in regards to taste vs what I normally get from Walmart or a local supermarket. However, I am greatful that this meat was available to purchase during the initial panic buying in my area due to Covid-19. That being said, when the UPS guy arrived the styrafoam conatiner with dry ice that the meat ships in was broken and 2 of the packages had already partially thawed. Normally I would refuse delivery but that was during a desperate time and I had to feed my family.One thing I have noticed, as I still have a few lbs of this in my freezer, that no matter how soon I use the meat after thawing the exterior of the meat is darker in color and the middle is pink, like what you're used to seeing in the supermarket. I assume that this is due to the lack of some perservatives as you're ordering from a butcher/reseller instead of off the shelf, but I'm not sure.The meat doesnt taste like anything special, you're not getting anything extra for the outrageous price. I would not recommend picking this up unless you're in a pinch and meat isnt available in your area.
