Holy wow! I’m shocked!
Talk about exceeding expectations! I was looking for a suitable Iaito for practice and wanted something of decent quality without spending $500+ of Tozando or Minosaka. I decided to give this cheap Amazon sword a try figured if the quality was sub par I can always return it. Having experienced cheap Chinese eBay katanas, I was not expecting much. Boy was I wrong! The product was very well and safely packaged and even comes black cotton sword bag. Upon initial opening I was greeted with something that felt solid and sturdy. Let’s start with Koshirae, the saya (sheath) is wood with high gloss finish. Sageo is cotton that is tightly wrapped. Tsuka is of high quality metal with detailed bamboo motif. Traditional brass is used for seppa and habaki. The tsuba (handle) is by far the most impressive! Real sa’me (ray skin) is used paired with small dragon menuki on both sides, cotton tsuka ito wraps tightly in Hinerimaki style that is clean and symmetrical (someone really put hard work in this!) Kashira and fuchi is made of same material as tsuka, with bamboo leaves as fuchi motif and non-matching moon, crane and flower for kashira. Let’s unsheath the sword! 😆 You are now presented with mirror polished carbon steel with a clean bo-hi that runs all the way from yokote to habaki. The blade is 2.25 shaku (about 27 inches for us Yankees). It features a straight hamon that is etched and of course, no signs of any hada. The kissaki is rounded perfect for Iaido. Then I decided to take the sword apart to get a better picture. Here comes the biggest shock of all! Not only is it full tang, but they even bothered to hand-engrave the mei on nakago for this cheap $110 sword! Kudos! How does it perform you say? To my delight, it handles surprisingly like my shinken. Roughly same weight and balance. The drawing has amount perfect resistance. All parts fit together tightly and there is no rattle. It’s slightly tip heavy but overall well balanced. I look forward to practicing with this sword without fear of cutting myself. This product is perfect for beginner Iaido practitioners who is on a budget, wants something that is not cheap-looking or feeling sword. You will not be disappointed with this sword. Disclaimer: I am not paid, sponsored nor affiliated with this company. I paid full price on this from Amazon. Just one really pleased customer.

Arrived fast, packaged well. The sword is great for the price, minor cosmetic problems, but well balanced and perfect for practice.

I've held crow bars that felt livelier, Don't waste your money
This has to be the worst sword/iaito I've ever held in my life. Bit feels like dead weight, the blade is not lively at all and the Boshi is so shallow performing tachikazi is almost impossible. And don't say I am bad, I have several shinken and other iaito and I can create audio feedback with all of them. It's horrible unbalanced the fushi digs into your fingers and the tsuba is unfinished it cuts your hand. It's lighter than my go to Skinken yet it feels heavier and terrible in the hands to do hours of repetitions. The only good thing about this iaito is the ito is tight and doesn't move. Save your money and get a real Iaito for someone like Hanwei or Torzando. Don't waste it on crap like this.
