My german shepherd LOVED the softer chew bones when she was a puppy, but as she got her adult teeth and those became dangerous for her, I switched her to adult nylabones. She has never loved nylabones and tend to like softer chew toys. I want her to have bones to chew on in order to keep her teeth clean and strong. This bone was a game changer! I think the claim that it is about 15% softer than a nylabone is true. She likes to chew on this much better, and it shows more wear than nylabones do so it probably will not last as long. However, the slightly decreased density means that she really enjoys chewing on it, so it is definitely worth it! It does break down a little bit into safely edible small pieces, but my dog does not lick them up so you can tell where she was chewing on it by all of the little flecks of bone pieces. The size of the little flecks is so tiny though and I am not concerned about her choking on it, however I do keep it out of her kennel just in case.

My dog (a 77 pound golden doodle) loves bones and has a pretty good collection going. She bounces from one bone to another depending on her mood. I ordered this bone and when it arrived she smelled it and wagged her tail furiously. I handed it to her and I was a little uncertain. It seemed pretty heavy and tough. I really wondered if she was going to be able to chew at it. She went to work and hasn't stopped chewing this bone since it arrived. She is obsessed with it. She holds the bottom between her paws as she works on either side. She seems to enjoy the side with the dots round bumps and I know that's very helpful for her teeth/tartar. After a day she was already wearing down the side with the round bumps, but in fairness, she hadn't stopped chewing it all day. She is so touch on bones, that I did find a small piece of it nearby but it wasn't a splinter and was just a small piece that she had chewed off. Since it's food grade and natural, I wasn't too concerned about this, although it did make me wonder how long this bone will last her at this rate. But in the end, it's all worth it because she really enjoys it so much.

I was really happy to find this bone as I don't particularly like giving nylon ones to our dogs anymore. They always tend to chew something to a sharp point or get small chunks off to swallow.This is made out of all food grade materials and is not hard on their stomach if they happen to swallow some. The scent also intrigued them much more than the nylon bones do. This should last a good while as it is a large size and our dogs are not obsessive chewers. They like it though and I feel safe giving it to them, so it's a win win.

Definitely NOT for strong chewers. My dog is a strong, aggressive chewer and this didn't last even an hour before it was severely mangled and chewed up. My dog loves it, but it won't last her at all. Good for moderate to light chewers would be a more appropriate title for this item.

I liked the size and design of this chew--but the Medium is not 15-20% softer than other chews like Nylabone. I am returning and will order the Soft version.

My dog has never ever liked any fake bone chews, so nylabones were never our thing. Seeing this product and how much safer it is for your dog, I decided to give it a try and I am so glad I did. My dog actually loves this fake bone! He went for it immediately and has bee going back to it every day. It is absolutely softer than regular nylabones. You cannot dig your nail straight into it, however if your dog scruffs up a part, your nail is easily able to scratch the bits off which means it really is softer. Try doing that with a nylabone. I highly recommend!!

My dog seems to love this thing. I've always wanted to get my dog something like this because she loves to chew and my previous dog love to chew as well, but I always get food based things that they could chew up and finish you know in one session. I never liked the idea of nylon or actual bone because I can't afford dental bills for the dog like who can. So I saw this and I was like OK let's give it a try. My husky definitely has been having some fun with it. She gets plenty of chewing going on and you can see little tiny flex and pieces coming off of it. She hasn't broke a piece off yet, but I am only giving it to her for about 45 minutes or so and then taking it away. Gives her some activity without leaving her with it.

My dog loves this bone! He started chewing on it right away.He is a 70lb goldendoodle and this was perfect for him. Its long enough and designed well so he can hold it and chew on it. He's been non stop for nearly an hour now - great bone! I also have peace of mind knowing its not a real bone so there won't be any shards he can swallow and it won't crack his teeth. He seems to love the taste.
