Great production value
The set, production value, and costumes are very elaborate. The story is ok maybe a little too abbreviated. The only major flaw is to use a wooden child actor. If they replace him with a CGI actor, it may look fake but still beats the child actor. If the leading actress looks familiar, it's because she is disney's mulan.Overall, I enjoyed the movie.

This is worth watching....
Even after reading the reviews I still dove headlong into viewing this film. I will tell you I had no experience with the previous books/stories, etc that other reviews mentioned and that's probably the best way to see this (without any knowledge of what it's based on). The story line didn't confuse me, pretty simplistic and straight forward (because I did not have anything to reference it to). I enjoyed the absolutely stunning cinematography, (the visuals are outstanding). And frankly, I chose this movie because I'm a fan of Yang Yang and wanted to see other movies he had made. I've watched it 4 times so far because the visuals are as outstanding as Ashes of Love was.

One mile of Ten (Peach Blossoms) Good but short. Read the book first.
Two things to note before watching this movie. One, you should read the "Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms" book first (in English here on Amazon it's "To the Sky Kingdom" by Tang Qi). Two, it's going to be hard to live up to the many, many episodes of the cdrama Eternal Love (currently on Netflix), which takes the book and expands it even more. So if the show is the long version of the book, this movie is definitely the short version. I say read the book first because this movie takes A LOT out of the story to make it fit the timeframe. This movie is gorgeous. They made some interesting choices with characters and cut others out completely. With the time given I can see why. Some choices were more bold than the show, and the ending left me wondering what they were implying. Overall, it's great, but I have a feeling that if you haven't at least read the book you'll be completely confused. Having read the book and watched the show, it was a fun snippet of a story I love.I've seen Yang Yang in Love O2O and Whirlwind Girl so it was fun to see him again - he's great as YeHua (it's hard to compare to Mark Chao but these YeHuas are different as well - plus Mark Chao had more to work with) and did well with what he was given. Liu Yifei is gorgeous, and does well with her part though her beauty does kindof overwhelm the role of Bai Qian, who needs to be able to pull of being a boy for 20,000 years and then a plain mortal. I don't blame YeHua for wanting to be with Susu. Yowza. Haha.Good times. Enjoy.

TV drama series much better
When I first put this dvd into my player, it registered as "invalid" and I was so disappointed. Well, I asked my kids and then said to try it a different way through the PSP game system so they hooked me up and it worked. Anyway, this was a more fantastical version of the drama series so I guess to cut down the time, they cut out a lot of the characters and storyline that was prevalent in the drama series. Since I seen the 58 episodes of the drama series, if you didn't know the whole storyline and just relied on this movie, you would have missed out on a lot...especially the buildup of the main characters romance, their heartbreak and eventual HEA. I think the lead male and female actors did a great job and they looked great together. I knew this was a different take on the drama series and that it was very fragmented but they had to get this epic love story into a short amount of time. The ending was too abrupt so if you did see the drama series, then you will know what was left out and watch this movie with that in mind. I would still give this a thumbs up to see.

My all time favorite
If you have time to watch the whole drama then do so but if you don't then watch this one. I love the two main actors! Gets to the main point! Love love love it.

Once Upon A Time; film based on Eternal Love(Chinese title: Three Lives, Three Worlds, Ten Miles of Peach Blossom)
This movie is based on the popular Chinese drama Three Lives, Three Worlds, Ten Miles of Peach Blossom. The English name is Eternal Love. The story is about a Queen who we see in a Peach Blossom forest. She's lost her memory; yet is invited to a party where she encounters people who recognize her. Her lover, Ye Hua had been searching for her, and now he must win her love back. With time events unfold to help Bai Qian recover her memory.I was out at the gym near a Chinese neighborhood when I saw the trailer for this movie in the plaza. When I saw the nine tailed fox(reminded me of Naruto), I had to watch it! Later when it was released in 2017, I went and saw the movie. I was confused by the character swapping between Ye Hua/Mo Juan and Bai Qian/Su-Su, so I did my research to learn that the movie tries to summarize the popular drama Three Lives, Three Worlds, Ten Miles of Peach Blossom. I enjoyed the movie because of some of the characters, scenes, and the action, yet when I got to watch the TV show, it makes the movie look very bad. The TV show is Masterpiece!!! Once I started watching it I was hooked. I watched it for 4 days straight and finished it. Even so, I still enjoy this movie! If you haven't seen the TV series, it's 58 episodes, this movie might be something that will peek your interest as it did mine.

A badly written mish-mash of the series
Since I enjoyed both the "Love O2O" series AND the movie versions, I was so excited to see a movie version of the Eternal Love series that I so loved. But what a mess! There was no plot or relationship development whatsoever. It was more like they re-shot the most climactic main scenes from the series and smashed them together to make a movie out of it. If I hadn't JUST watched the series, I would have had NO idea what was going on in this movie. Very disappointing.
