I paired this candle with a gift card for a colleague who is starting law school next month. The jar and lid are very simple and the letters are printed on a clear label. The candle is small but the fragrance is amazing. The top note is lavender (and doesn’t smell synthetic to me); it’s very subtle and reminds me of a spa environment. It comes carefully packaged in molded foam and a nice box. I’ve included a picture for scale.

If you are of an age to have older siblings who grew up in the sixties, or have parents who were young enough to appreciate the British Invasion in the 60s, then you were raised with The Beatles, Yardbirds, Kinks, Animals, Carnaby Street Fashion, and Yardley. This long-lasting, clean burning "Smells Like A Future Lawyer" candle has the same fragrance-though somewhat subdued-as did the Yardley English Lavender that was a fixture in the bathrooms of the house that I grew up in. English lavender has a cooler, greener finish than a French or Spanish lavender scent. I absolutely LOVE IT. It burns cleanly with no soot around the container, and if you will be sure to burn it long enough on first lighting, then it will burn evenly for its lifetime (with no tunneling). With candles in jars like this you just have to be sure to let the entire top of the wax liquefy on the first lighting/burning, so that a tunnel isn't created. Despite very high temperatures during its shipping and delivery, it was so securely packaged that arrived in perfect form. Five Future Lawyer Stars!!!!!

The media could not be loaded.  Got this as a gift for a someone I know who is working on getting a law degree to become an attorney. They very much liked it, but did not think it smelled like lavender at all, whether when burning or not. When I smelled it at the time of making the video here, it did not smell like lavender, and I after I gave it to them as a gift they lit such and I was able to smell it burning, and it did not at all smell like lavender while burning either. While I think it makes for a great gift for anyone working to become an attorney, the product description and a sticker on the bottom of the candle wrongly says it has a "lavender" smell and yet it does not. It has a sharp, crisp, and fresh smell, and smells nothing like lavender. It's hard to believe anyone in their right mind would describe the fragrance of this candle as "lavender." Again, it smells absolutely nothing like lavender, and I have lavender growing in my yard and know what it smells like.The candle is about 3 inches tall and has a diameter of about 2.5 inches. It has a clear glass case that has a good thickness for a candle this size. It arrived in a small paper box with styrofoam padding surrounding the candle so that it was safe in shipment. The candle wick is white in color and the wax color is a pure white cream color, consistent with it being made of natural soy wax. It is expensive for its small size. In rating this, I removed two stars because it does not smell like lavender and it is expensive for its size. Nonetheless, it’s still a good gift for anyone striving to become an attorney.

I love this for my little lawyer to be. The scent is soft and clean, but with something like this, it is about the message, and I love to be able to encourage him with little gifts like this. (And, it does make his room smell a bit better, which is a good thing.)

I haven't burned the candle, but the cold throw on it is pleasant and surprisingly strong. The lettering is straight and looks nice.

My cousin's daughter just graduated from undergrad and is headed to law school. I have a big package of different items for her, including a book another law student friend of my daughter's recommended for a first year, but I felt the bag was a little empty, so when I saw this I bought it. I'm not sure if she'll like it. I mean, not everybody will enjoy the phrase "smells like future lawyer" as it is a little awkward (I see now!) but she can just turn that verbiage to the wall if she doesn't like it, and burn the lovely smelling lavender candle. It's well packaged to avoid breakage in a box with a bunch of foam in it so it doesn't move at all. Rest assured if you're sending it as a gift that it will not break in shipping! The outer box got a big rumbled as it was sent in soft-sided packaging, but it's fine. I'm gonna wrap it now. And it's fine if she laughs at me for not getting the joke if she thinks the words printed on the glass of the candle holder are funny or suggestive. I'm an old lady, so I'm allowed faux pas like that. At least I'm giving her a bundle of presents! I'm glad I ordered it, and still give it an "A" grade.
