Once I received this cup holder and held it I had high hopes because it felt as if it was strong. It is solid and the hooks seem strong, but I wouldn't trust using it to hold anything other than a capped bottle. It's not very deep, I measured it with a ruler and it's only about 1 and 3 quarters of an inch. I would be worried about a cup tipping over in it. I have just been using it to store an extra 16.9 oz closed bottle of water in it.

I needed an additional cup holder for my SUV. This is the perfect solution. It securely hooks to the headrest bar. The seller provide two lengths of hooks to accommodate larger (thicker) or smaller (thinner) seats. My only concern is using the cup holder with an open top cup or drinking glass; I could see liquid spilling down the seat, but that could happen with any cup holder in the vehicle. I also appreciate the hook below the cup holder for hanging a purse or small bag for garbage. Overall this is a great addition to my vehicle and provides more drink storage.
