Region 1 Version - Walking that old Highway to Heaven again!
Nice to get hold of a copy of this old series which has a positive note running throughout - even for those without a religious leaning. I haven't had a chance to see much of it yet - but a word of warning to those buying the R1 version. My set came with what I thought was 2 copies of S2D1 with S2D4 'missing'. On inspection the '2nd' S2D1 in the 'position' where S2D4 should have been IS actually the S4D4 when the content is displayed - probably in the mass production process the plate on the front of the disc has been incorrectly stamped - a simple pen and paper jobbie soons remedies! I just hope that there are not further manufacturing errors for stamping the other discs. The discs themselves come in individual black paper sleeves with a plastic window, stacked one on top of the other - very easy to lift and stack like a filing system to select the disc of choice and place at the back on finishing - none of this multi-disc spindle nonsense which can be very irritating and the possible damage caused when constantly removing etc - all discs have the episodes clearly written upon them. The savings to be made with R1 imports are immense - so invest in an all regions DVD Player - which can be under £30 or use VLC on a pc/laptop which recognises all region DVDs - beware of too many region changes if using a pc with another player as you can only do it 5 times before it locks to that 'final' region. So I guess all that is left to do is get on and enjoy them!

Inspires Hope
Absolutely wonderful. One of the series like LHOTP, making Michael Landon a legend especially with his untimely demise. There are a variety of stories which range from a little better than mediocre to uniquely marvelous. Some of the latter I have watched over a number of times. Many stories have a sad theme, but good things often seem to happen. It is uplifting when your longings as you watch them occasionally have perfect outcomes. These episodes can inspire hope as the miracles are not way beyond our own life experiences.

Amazon still selling wrong boxset after 6 years.
The boxset Amazon are advertising is not what I received. The picture is showing a boxset housing the 5 DVD boxsets for each season which I was expecting, and wanting, which I think is the original packaging which has now gone out of production. The new packaging just has 2 boxsets, Seasons 1 and 2 in one, and seasons 3-5 in the other. The problem with it is that discs are all on top of each other and some were loose.I am very disappointed in Amazon with this, as 3rd party sellers seem to be more trustworthy.I contacted Amazon on the matter and I was partially refunded, so all good. £58 for this inferior boxset I received is too much, but £58 for the old boxset they are advertising / picturing would have been well worth it.The US version is cheaper, but it is on 23 discs, so more episodes per disc, means each episode more compressed, which means lower quality video/audio.

A lot of entertainment for little money
All I can say about this is if you have a multi regional or region 1 dvd player you will make a great saving from the regional 2 U.K version, it as every episode from all the five series of Highway to Heaven and is great value. The only negative thing I can find on this dvd set is the dvds are not placed separately they are piled on top of one another in separate sleeves, it is a great space saver compared to our box set which is five seasons in five cases, but then again the price difference is great as this set can be brought for under £28 new the U.K version is over £40 so the benefits are you are saving money and space.I don't want to say much about the series because I feel other five star reviews say it all, I enjoyed watching this when I was young and I do now and feel new and old audience will feel the same a great series and a lot of entertainment both for the young and old, so if I rated this box set on percentage I would give it 98% as it loses 2% because of the packaging because the discs are not as easy to get to without moving other discs, but otherwise it gains on percentage because of the room and money we save, this is a great boxset with hours of entertainment for little money a great bargain.

Came as advertised
The set came in 1 piece but nowhere on the listing did it say it was a Region 2 DVD Set which would have helped as I am in Ireland but I did contact the seller and after that they got back to me and did say it is Region 2 and once I received the set I then saw it said Region 2 on the box, as it's a present for my Dad I have not watched any of the set but it did come in a nice box

Fantastic series
I always loved watching these great shows, and as I never saw most of them having them on DVD is just the ticket. The box set comes in a sleeve with 2 cases full of the disks. The picture is in square format and the quality is what you'd expect for the year of production.I've just started watching these so will enjoy one a day for a while! The real magic is in the stories!

Nostalgic
I am a big fan of Michael Landon. I was brought up on this stuff and the nostalgia is great re watching all his work as an adult. I also love Little House on the Prairie and there are quite a few similarities here as you would expect. Some episodes are a little cheesy yes but I still love them and have just finished the end of season five, having watched every episode in this huge box set!So sad both Michael Landon and Victor French died shortly after this series. They were a great team.

POOR QUALITY!
I loved this show growing up, so when the complete series was released I was really excited, well until it arrived! This has been elegrdly been remastered, and if that's so, it's been done poorly, the picture quality if not great, not half as good as it was with its original DVD release, I was really disappointed to say the least, it's still a great show, but not worth paying the price I paid, plus I had 2 faulty discs which was another kick in the butt!
