Our cat goes nuts for these shrimp (which are real, IMO)!
The media could not be loaded. We just got a new cat which was a big deal for my husband and I as we don't get animals lightly. He is actually our first pet together in 7 years. And while we have had our ups and downs with the male we got at a year old (with a few issues), he is quite adorable despite some picadillos. When it comes to food he seems to either like it or have little interest in it. All in all, when it comes to fishy things, he seems to prefer meat. So I was worried he wouldn't be too keen on these freeze dried shrimp but for a cat that turns down most other fishy things (even wet food, which he prefers over dry), when these arrived (and my husband overloaded him with them) he ate several all at once.I thought the container size was adequate for the price, after checking out all the cat treats at a local big box store recently- along with all their prices. Plus these are shrimp and they look real, and the price of a luxury fish item like that is always on the higher side. There also seemed to be a seasoning on them, when we looked at them in their container. So it seems, for a cat that won't normally eat "fishy", these are his exceptions- so if your cat is a fish fiend watch out with these babies (shrimp babies, that is ,), cause they will probably love them. They are a fish our cat will actually eat, which is good, so that he has some kind of rounded diet. However be mindful that these are freeze dried so they are crunchy- for those that pay attention to the things your cat might want (or not).About two weeks later (after this review was published)- had to add a new video because our cat loves these treats so much we open the lid and he goes right for them. Beware though- after awhile we noticed that there is a slight smell- after all this is shrimp. But our cat goes nuts for them!! You can see from the photos I took two weeks ago of the product, in the video- half the large jar is gone (my husband loves to give the cat treats and our cat loves them and my husband for it ;).

Not for everykitty
I bought these for my two cats because I heard eating whole freeze dried shrimp can help cats clean their teeth. Came fast, packaged well and all but my cats just dont care much for it. One ate part of one and spit it out and the other just sniffed the air, interesting enough to wake him from his nap but he did not want to eat. I think they might be too salty/dry for my cats taste

50/50 on these
I give these a 3.5 star rating overallThese are very fishy smelling, yes. That's not a real problem for me as I'd be skeptical if they smelled mild. They're freeze dried shrimps. They gotta smell like shrimps. We have 4 cats. 2 who will eat these and two who will not. The two that ate these really seemed to enjoy them. Unfortunately, they started throwing up every time they ate these within an hour. There wasn't anything in the vomit but the shrimp, so I can't say it was anything else related. We decided to hold it off for a week, then try again. Same result which means our cats can't eat these. They are willing to, but something about it makes them throw it up soon afterwards. If you're going to try these. Start with a very small amount and see how your cat reacts.

DO NOT FEED
I have ordered other freeze-dried proteins for my cats many times. This product is TOXIC. It reeks and smells like formaldehyde + other chemicals. My 3 cats would not eat it. I would not trust this product. I will only buy pet food made in the US from now on.

Cats go nuts for these
2.8oz Freeze Dried Shrimp for Cats, Vital Essentials for Cat, Natural Freeze Dried Cat Treats, Shrimp Food for CatCats go nuts for theseMy kitties are crazy for these. You get a lot in the container. If you’ve lived on the gulf coast and been in a store with dried shrimp in those clear packs, this is the same thing but for cats lol. They smell exactly like the human version of dried shrimp. They’re a great treat for the kitties a few times a week.Highly recommend.

A lot of shrimp!
You get a lot of little shrimps in this package, which is so great! I think these could last my cats a while, as I like to add them in as toppers on their food. It's now one of their favorite treats, as well! These are also a great size for a cat to chew. I like to add them into my cat's food toy for them to find and eat, and they love it so much!

Smells
There is a ton of shrimp in the container. My cats seem to like the shrimp which is great but the container does not contain the smell AT ALL. I moved it to a room we had the litterbox it but it overpowered all sprays we use in that room. I eventually double bagged the shrimp in ziploc bags to try and contain the smell. I only had the shrimp for 1 day with opening it. It still smells through the double bagging, so I guess I’ll have to see if it goes through.
