Hydroponics Growing System: Love this little grow system, it means that anyone can grow something even if you lack space and access to good light, The hydroponic technology will support germination and grow regardless.Between the weather, birds and slugs my outside lettuce crop has failed to deliver this year. So I’m hoping to grow some “cut and come again” leaves to supplement my salad rations. The system is simple to set up and provides starting point equipment such as the seedling blocks and plant feeds. I’ve used oak leaf and Butterhead lettuce cultivars as easy to nip-off leaves as you require them. It only took about 6 days for germination and at 2 weeks I’m seeing some sturdy little plants developing - it’s quite exiting to observe.I don’t think that this is the answer to growing your own 5 a day but it’s definitely fun to grow a little bit of what you eat and watch as it develops enough to reach the plate. Excellent for kids to get involved with and easy enough to find somewhere to use it. Great fun.
