Rothco Vintage B-15A Bomber Jacket

I just got my Rothco black B-15 flight jacket, and I am very pleased with this purchase! My chest size is 43 and luckily I saw on another sellers site that Large size runs from size 41-45, so I got it. The construction is very nice, especially the cotton shell which I prefer over the shinier nylon types of jackets. I also like the sturdy weight of the B-15 and the light quilted lining which will do just fine day to day in Central California's winter climate. I will easily be able to wear a sweater underneath when the nights start to freeze. The faux fur collar which is removable, is just fine with me although I wont need it until it starts to freeze outside. The free shipping was super fast from Trek Republic, since I ordered my B-15 on Thursday just after midnight and I just received it on Tuesday 2 P.M. PST!!! Thank You Amazon and Trek Republic!! I bought the khaki version and I am pleased with it. The fur collar is removable, held on by buttons/loops and underneath is a fold-down flight suit style collar. The insulation is not a puffy as an MA-1 bomber jacket, but it's warm enough most of the time. I ran mine through the dryer on extra low heat and fluffed up the insulation some. The size runs big, so keep that in mind when ordering. If you are borderline between sizes, order the smaller one. The brown leather accent triangles on the front are sewn-on patches that can be easily removed if so desired. I used this jacket as the base for a custom Ghostbusters uniform jacket by removing the triangles, the fake fur collar and the collar's buttons, then adding a custom nametag patch to the left chest and a No Ghosts logo patch to the right sleeve. It came out fantastic. Highly recommended for such a project.

The quality is top drawer, the fit is exactly what it should be for an XL. The finish is great; the zipper is a little 'catchy' but I expect it will smooth out as it breaks in. The delivery time was very prompt. I love the fur collar, I did not however realize that the fur collar was detachable! The fur collar is held in place by four button loops on the inside of the standard collar. At times I fear tearing one of these loops out, but it should be an easy fix if it does occur. The seeming frailty of the button loops (in my opinion) are the only reason I didn't give this coat five stars!

Purchase went fine. There was a small cut in the package but it didn't go all the way through. The jacket runs large, the sleeves are a bit long. The collar is silly, I gave it to the dogs for a chew toy. Wear a scarf if you think you will need the collar. The jacket construction seems fine. I appreciate the utility pocket on the sleeve although it wont fit my over-sized smart phone the inside pocket will.The lining seems a bit lightweight for what the jacket looks like but it is comfortable enough for wearing through the autumn i expect, and during the winter for short exposures. The price is ok but not great, considering the issues. I gave it a 3 because I would not buy it again but neither will I try to return it and I will wear it.

The only reason I'm dinging this jacket a couple of stars is because of its bulkiness. I think I would like it a lot more if it had a lot less inner lining as I don't live in--say Buffalo or Minneapolis. So just consider that if you want more of a light weight 'jacket' and not a winter coat. Otherwise it is a very well made piece of clothing.

The sleeves are a bit long and the jacket a bit short. If you must compromise, go for the larger sizes and roll up the sleeves using an elastic on each sleeve.

Very comfortable fit and looks nice. The arms are long enough that it doesn't bind when you reach for something. The cotton shell isn't waterproof but I prefer it over the more common nylon jackets. The fur collar is kind of a joke and jacket isn't heavily insulated, but as long as the temperature doesn't get too low it works pretty well. I bought this one to replace one just like it that I have been wearing the last few years that is getting just a little ragged.

buy one size smaller it runs large. not as warm as I thought , but does the job.haven't gotten wet yet but does not look to water resistant.

自分は普段は2Lから3Lを着ているのですが、こちらはLを注文しました。袖だけが少し長いくらいで中にトレーナーやパーカーを着てもキツくない感じで良かったです。星を一つ減らしたのは商品説明にウォッシュ加工とは書いてありましたが、黒の色が最初から色褪せていて一瞬中古？と思うくらいだったのでそこだけが残念だったからです…。しかしデザインや着心地は大変満足していますのでまた違う色のLがあったら再購入すると思います。
