MEGATEK Portable CD Player with Bluetooth RX/TX, FM Transmitter & USB

Bought this player to be used in a rental car for a cross-country road trip. Pretty easy to use and very nice battery life. What would I change? Well, the Bluetooth wouldn't interface to the car's audio system, but the manual clearly said it probably wouldn't (for use mostly with wireless speakers or headphones), and the car didn't have an AUX jack so that meant not being able to use the headphone port. Which left us with using the FM transmitter. That worked well, but when traveling across states, it often took several tries to find a station frequency not in use that wouldn't interfere with the unit. If possible, I would add a USB audio output that would be able to interface with a car's stereo system, but I don't know if that would have to mimic Apple Carplay or Android connectivity which could be problematic. There's a USB port on the unit, but I think it is an input for the player, for some reason. Still, I'll give it 5 stars. It did what I asked it to do and for a very reasonable price. As other reviewers have mentioned, being able to turn the unit off, turn it back on, and have it start at the same place it left off on the CD was very nice.

Not much to say about this; it does exactly what you want it to. Good sound quality, nice compact design, runs well. Only thing I have against it is that the disk cover on the back feels a tad flimsy, so I wouldn't recommend giving this to any young children, but it's plenty sturdy enough for gentle, responsible use. Great player at a great price overall!

I bought this portable CD player so I could listen to my CD's and audiobooks while I did my housework and this player fit the bill. It's exactly as described in the ad, lightweight, easy to figure out and comes with 2 charging cords and ear buds. Easy to charge and easy to figure out how to work. I have not tried the radio yet. The volume seems to default to a very low decibel when you turn it off, and I would have liked for the volume to go higher but it's acceptable. Charge lasts a long time and it's easy to see if the charge is fading. It looks good, and works every time. Quality of the sound for music is pretty good, good enough for my use. I would recommend this player.

Before I review it, let me explain what I wanted. Most new cars no longer come with CD players, even as an option. I listen to classical music from a large CD library which are usually much longer than popular music, so flash drives are somewhat impractical, and I don't have an expensive phone with lots of memory. My solution for several years has been to use an FM converter that plugs into the cigarette lighter plug with a wire connecting it directly to a portable CD player. That way the CD player plays through the car radio. This worked remarkably well until my portable CD played died, with the only drawback that it used 2 AA batteries I had to replace somewhat frequently. So I was looking for a replacement portable CD player. This one attracted my eye because it has a built in FM transmitter and I could plug it in to USB port to charge (or run) the internal battery. At first I was disappointed because there was a lot of intolerable static on the radio, so I had to change from my usual FM transmitter station, but the owner's manual suggested some, and they seem to work much better. I believe that the FM transmitter is not as strong as my previous unit, so that is why I only give it 4 stars. But in general I am pleased with it. It was reasonably priced, and I added a very inexpensive extended warranty (something I rarely do, but I have had trouble with some previous portable CD players. Let me conclude with some minor criticisms, ones that are certainly not deal-breakers for me, but may be for some customers: 1. CDs are loaded from the back side, which is very strange, but acceptable. Also I wish it was a bit thinner. 2. As I mentioned the FM transmitter is not very strong, which makes me wonder if it will continue to work well on a long trip, where local radio stations may interfere with reception. I haven't tested this yet. 3. I seem to require maximal volume on both the player and the radio for an acceptable car volume. 4. The FM transmitter takes about 10 seconds to link up to your radio, so in view of 3, you have to endure loud static for those 10 seconds. I quickly learned to hit the button before I turn on the radio. 5. You seem to have to turn off all the power to the CD player or the player just keeps playing once you leave the car. I haven't tested this fully, and I will say that it has a memory feature that let's the CD start playing where you left off even if you remove the CD and put it back in. In conclusion, a good, reasonable buy for someone who wants to play CDs in a car that has no CD player.

I was considering wether to buy this player or a vintage sony diskman and i‘m really glad i picked this up. Not only was is very affordable but it was very worth it. At first i was skeptical on it‘S battery life but it‘s very good, also a nice thing about it is that it uses Usb c charging which means it doesnt need batterys. And i will say that i really enjoy the earbuds it came with, i was planing to buy a pair of iem earbuds but after using the ones it came with i decided to use them instead, they are very good quality and i actually prefer them over my bluetooth earbuds. Another thing about the battery life was able to play several cd‘s and it didnt lose much battery. Also i‘ll say it has a lot of good features and is very easy to use it. And i love the fact that it can remember where you left off which my older Cd player cannot do this. And i will say i do like the appearance it has hints of a modern but still looks retro. Finaly i am really glad it has built in speakers which most portable cd players do not which is one of the reasons why i picked it up, though i will say the speakers themselfs are not the best but i like them. The only minor issue i have is with the volume limit of 15, i wish it could play louder but it‘s nothing to serious.

Loved the product, but I'm keeping it at 3 stars for people who expected a lot better. For context, this is a pretty recent purchase, and I don't know how long it could take to wear down. The speakers aren't all that good, and that's to be expected with how compact it is. It's very treble heavy like an iPod. Using headphones solves this problem pretty easy, and if you want a loud speaker, you can just use Bluetooth to hook it up to one of those. Bluetooth works great on this and I haven't had any problems so far. Some people have complained about the CD stuff being on the bottom, but I don't see it as an issue. It's a portable player, you can just turn it over if you wanna switch a CD. The USB player functionality is amazing and the main reason I bought this. I like to keep the physicality of my music without all the time limitations. There's one issue I have that I feel like is just a me issue and not a problem for anyone else. I listen to Bull of Heaven, which is a band who's main gimmick is making ungodly long music. What I'm listening to right now is 2 months of music, split up into 3:38:27 long mp3s. Using the player's fast forward button is incredibly tedious with this type of music, and I can spend 15 minutes getting back to where I left off at. I assume this isn't an issue for anyone else though. Battery life is pretty good, but also just won't tell you fast enough when it gets low. At full charge it shows 3 bars and you'll have 15 hours, like the product says. When you're at 2 bars, you'll have 2 hours left I'll have to charge it even when it appears full. Overall it's a good product, but flawed where you'd expect it to be.

This is the third device that I have purchased to allow CD listening in my car. My vehicle did not support the format of the first two devices and they both were cumbersome to use. This Megatek CD players solves the problem with FM broadcast and the sound is actually better than normal FM broadcasts. At first I had trouble getting a clear signal but changed to another channel and the sound was great. The device can adjust to a range of channels, so just find an unused one and tune it in on the player. So far I am really pleased but have yet to try it on a bumpy road so time will tell. It is good to find a player that works this well and allows me to reclaim my CD collection. I appreciate that I can use FM and avoid Bluetooth signals in a confined space.

Honestly, this product actually exceeded my expectations. Personally, I would have preferred a more powerful headphone amp, as it has trouble driving most headphones beyond just a moderate volume. That said, at least it doesn't distort. The speakers, are surprisingly good sounding. But then, one has to wonder what the point of having speakers is? This is a portable using, so in all likelyhood, it will be used in one of two ways: 1. specifically as a Blu-Tooth transmitter to bluetooth speaker or boombox, or even home stereo. 2. as a portable device to be used with headphones, or ear buds. In both cases, it negates the need for internal speakers (for most people). So, I would argue that a thinner profile, and less product weight, is more important than internal speakers. And even more important, would be attention paid to the headphone amp. Still, all of those things are minor, and when taken as a whole, and especially considering the price, this is an excellent product. If you WANT to have built in speakers, that are remarkably small, yet sound good. Then this is your player. The design is unusual, and kind of ingenious, in that it is "upside down". Meaning, you have to turn it over, to open it and insert a CD, which then plays upside down! But don't worry, it works just fine. And THIS feature - I LOVE: The CD door locks - meaning it has a physical latch. To open the unit, the latch must be deliberately slid sideways. This is a great feature, which prevents accidentally opening the CD door (a problem which plagued my previous player). FInally, having a few different EQ choices is a welcome feature, although they are each a little extreme in their curves, they may be effective in compensating for poor quality headphones/speakers. If you already have good sounding headphones or speakers, you may find that "FLAT" yields the best output quality. All in all - it's a great deal for minimal $$. Thumbs up.

Works great so far, I’ve been using it in my car because I don’t have a built in cd player and it’s working great. It’s also compact enough that I can take it around with me and use it pretty much everywhere. I have noticed the battery can sometimes run out somewhat quickly (a hour or two) but since I’m normally using it in my car I can just plug it in.
