It did fluff up matted down carpet we had on our steps. It also got down deep to remove pet hair and loosen up dirt.

Our carpet has gotten pretty matted. I tried this on it and it does lift the matted layer up so it looks less matted. I think I might need a conditioner kind of product to really detangle the carpet fibers and remove the mat entirely. It's not a miracle product, but does produce nice results.

I got this to brush out area rugs after cleaning to fluff up the fibers and it works very well for that purpose. The tool is very well made, no flimsy feel at all and no worries about it breaking while in use. All in all very happy with tool and using it often for rug fluffing. Recommend.

I got this mostly for the stairs because I can’t stand looking at the matted carpet every day. Even though the carpet is clean, matting always makes the carpet appear old and dirty.The tool really does help fluff the carpet and make it look newer again. I’m hoping that using the Carpet Fluffer periodically will help keep the carpet looking good for longer. I’ll definitely use it before company comes if I don’t have time for a thorough vacuuming.I also tried it on areas that are matted into a pattern that annoys me. This pattern is caused by a person dragging their feet rather than picking them up due to a disability. This tool made the matting disappear. I’m going to try to fluff it occasionally to see if it will prevent serious matting over the long term.My carpet is not new, but about 7 years old, and it still works wonders. We also don’t have a lot of foot traffic in the house, and we don’t wear shoes on the carpet.I tried to include a before and after photo, but you couldn’t tell a huge difference even though there was one.It’s a simple-to-use tool that will last forever, does a great job and is reasonably priced.

I have a high pile shag carpet. The fluffer raises the pile but not as expected. It might would work well on a shorter pile.

TLDR: Cool little carpet tool that helps get out that cat fur! We mainly got this to help get the cat fur off some of our cat trees and smaller items like the cat beds etc. It really does pull up hair and pet fur, which is really amazing. It is a soft feeling, durable rubber and it is easy to use in general. You do have to really use some energy to get large spaces done though, so this is really useful for small items or areas. I would find something a lot larger for general carpeting or large floor carpets, or you’re going to be doing a lot of work for awhile. Still find it very useful for the cat trees though!

This tool works really well. Fluffs up the fibers without damaging them. Easy to use. And it makes a noticeable difference. No complaints.

I ordered The Carpet Fluffer specifically for our entryway runner that has seen better days. It’s still a beautiful and functional runner, but no matter how much I try to vacuum and clean with a carpet spray it just never really comes back to life. You’ll see in the photos I included the difference this carpet tool made on half of the runner and then the entire runner, and then what I was able to pull out of the carpet once the pile was revived. And yes, I did run my vacuum over the runner earlier in the day before using this new handy tool! I did have to put in some effort to really lift the pile like I wanted to, but the bristles on the brush are strong and can withstand some rough use. I can’t wait to try one more pass over the runner with The Carpet Fluffer before trying again to clean it with the foaming carpet cleaner. Now that the pile has been lifted and pet hair removed that the vacuum couldn’t reach, I feel like results will be seen upon cleaning. A must-have tool if you have rugs and carpets that are still good but could use a little TLC!
