I have been extremely pleased with this backpack. I've had it for about a year now and have used it daily. I use it for travel (as my personal item) and as my daily bag. It is sturdy and has held up great. The zippers are strong, good quality. I got the navy blue (it has gold zippers which makes it look a little more stylish for everyday use). It has so many useful pockets, and even though I fill it really full, I always seem to have extra space for a lightweight jacket, etc. and it holds my laptop perfectly and securely. The hand hold at the top is starting to tear at the seam, (mostly my fault due to filling it with a lot of heavy stuff for travel). Other than that, the backpack still looks like new. Shoulder straps are sturdy, comfortable and are holding up well. Definitely recommend it.

I travel frequently for work and needed something more protective and practical than my purse to carry my laptop around. I had been searching for months for a laptop backpack that was polished, professional and feminine…and not made of heavy leather. A very tall order.I reluctantly began searching for the best pricing for the Tumi Carson, which I had seen on a colleague who had similar challenges finding an appropriate backpack for work. Fortunately, while searching Amazon for the Tumi, I ran across this Sophie bag from Kenneth Cole Reaction. It appeared to be very similar in style and size as the Tumi Carson, so I took a chance and placed an order.What a great bag! Having seen the Tumi in person, there is no way I could justify its' $400 price tag when this Kenneth Cole is equally functional and a fraction of the cost. Admittedly, it lacks some of the refinements of a $400 bag (the Tumi nylon is slightly higher quality, and the back straps are nicer and don't have dangling ends)…but this is not a deal breaker.I carry Dooney and Bourke bags exclusively - so I have a certain "standard" when it comes to handbags, totes and briefcases. For the price, this Sophie bag is a great deal, and more importantly, it is polished enough to carry with my business attire. It slides over the bulky handle on my Travelpro Platinum carry-on with ease, holds my laptop in a padded compartment, cords, wallet, phones, makeup bag, iPad, and has plenty of room to spare.The only improvement needed: the side pockets have only one zipper so when I place my 240z Hydroflask bottle, I don't have a snug fit. If these pockets had two zippers I could pull them up on both sides of the bottle to help secure in place. Still, even with this minor inconvenience, this backpack gets 5 stars from me: professional, lightweight, organized, stylish and functional. I now own both the black and blue…which by the way is a richer blue shade than appears in the pictures.

Story time: My late partner and I have had backpacks that we literally carried of lives in - computer, important docs when needed, meds, change of clothes, etc (I’m sure you get the point). Since he unexpectedly passed last August, I cannot use my backpack - I just can’t. Which brings me here. I have been stupidly obsessed with finding a new backpack (grief) that I love as much as I did that one but didn’t want the same one. I have purchased a few contenders that I like but didn’t love. I stumbled upon this one and I am so glad I did. It’s not as large as my other one but for this stage of life it seems to be perfect and I love it. It just arrived so I will update accordingly. It fits my laptop, which is thick with a second screen, my purse - yep, dropped the whole thing in it, place for those docs or legal pad, and still have room with the front storage pockets as well as a change of clothes (if folded correctly, not a bulky sweater or jacket though). It’s stylish - sleek, modern and professional. It doesn’t screen age appropriate. Again, I love it and will update on the durability in time.

This is an attractive backpack, with numerous handy pockets. I like the material, and received a number of complements from people who liked it.I originally purchased it for transporting my laptop, but eventually began using it as my handbag, for times I had a bit more to transport. If you are planning on using it as a handbag, it is rather large.I gave it a four star review is because the cloth divider between the two sections ripped, and the top handle ripped off. Perhaps that would have warranted three stars, except it happened after about half a year of use.

The design of this backpack is much like the expensive Tumi backpacks that run up to several hundred dollars. For $70-$100, I get the same chic look with this backpack. I also love how many pockets it has. It can be used for laptop and tech gear, or if your a sporty person, the different pockets are great for storing all sorts of things like small shampoo bottles, flipflops, and other personal necessities. The backpack is great for any purpose really. Traveling, gym, commuting... it does it all. I've had mine for two years now. It's a bit scuffed up but it's still going strong. My only complaints is that the loops of the shoulder straps are a bit hard to maneuver (shorten and lengthen) sometimes. It's a lightweight, cheap back pack that has a cute look, which is exactly what I needed.
