Fullmetal Alchemist: Fullmetal Edition, Vol. 1 (1) Hardcover – May 8, 2018

First time getting manga this high quality! So worth it. The hardcover is great, love the red sheen on the words. Was so cool opening it to the semi-transparent page in front of the picture of Ed, never seen that kind of paper used in a manga before! The pages are great, thick and shiny paper. All of the colored pages are awesome, and the black and white is really bold. Perfect buy if you’re a lover of the series. My copy did come with some smudges on the white edges though, not sure what it is, but it isn’t too bad.

First, this book is beautiful, new texts, new extras and the hard cover is amazing. I have only a couple issues that don't break the deal but are important to know. For example because of the type of paper used finger prints WILL form on the blacker parts of the book. Another issue is the lack or the extra stories from the original volumes, these are instead replaced with behind the scenes sketches of the characters (which are admittedly really cool) however if you are a fan of those shorts keep that in mind. Otherwise these are just minor inconveniences in a amazing format for one of the greatest manga.

If you have never read a Manga before and you want to try, this is definitely a great place to start. If you like stories that will get you invested and possibly rip out your heart. This is definitely the way to go. You follow two brothers that are on an adventure to get their bodies back after a very crappy incident, and you will fall in love with all the characters along the way evil or good.

Regular manag paper or even newspaper activates my allergies but this one has a much better quality, no more allegiance while trying to read manga.

Fullmetal Alchemist is a unique take on alchemy and an alternate world that has lessons that are just as important as when they first came out. I remember watching the original anime and later Brotherhood and now finally reading this feels like meeting an old friend. This book introduces the Elric brothers and their struggles to get their bodies back. Facing down a man who has delusions of grandeur to meeting a man who would sacrifice his own family just to continue his work.
