Kasa Smart Dimmer Switch 2-Gang, HS200-2, Single Pole, Need Neutral Wire

I’ve been slowly converting my home into a smart house, and the Kasa Smart Dimmer Switch 2-Gang (HS220-2) was the perfect addition. If you’re already in the Kasa ecosystem, you know how reliable their products are, and this double-switch pack did not disappoint. Why I’m Sticking with Kasa • Ecosystem Consistency: One of the best things about this setup is having everything under one ecosystem. I don’t have to jump between five different apps to control my lights, plugs, and cameras. Everything is right there in the Kasa app, which makes grouping my living room lights with my smart plugs for a "Movie Night" scene incredibly easy. • Flawless Voice Integration: Since these are compatible with Alexa and Google Home, I rarely even touch the physical switch anymore. The voice response is snappy—no awkward 5-second delays like some other brands I've tried. • The "Gentle Off" Feature: This is a small detail that makes a huge difference. You can set the lights to "fade off," which is perfect for when you’re leaving the room or heading to bed—no more stumbling in the dark after hitting the switch. • No Hub, No Headache: I love that these connect directly to my 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. I don’t want another bridge or hub cluttering up my router area. These were recognized by my network immediately and haven't dropped the connection once. Installation & Design • Installation Tip: Just a heads up—you must have a neutral wire for these. If your house is newer, you’re likely good to go. The app actually walks you through the wiring step-by-step with visuals, which takes the intimidation factor out of the DIY process. • Clean Look: The white finish is modern and matches standard wall plates perfectly. It’s a 2-gang set, so it’s ideal for those double-switch boxes where you want both lights to be smart and dimmable. • UL Certified Safety: It gives me peace of mind knowing these are UL certified. When you’re messing with your home’s electrical, you want that extra layer of safety. The Final Verdict Kasa has mastered the "set it and forget it" smart home experience. Almost 1 year later they still operate no issues. Never had issues with them losing WiFi signal. Very fast and responsive to command signal. Easy to instal!

So simple to install and setup with my Google home. Just make sure you're using 2.4 GHz band. If you have a combo wireless network, split them, connect the switch to 2.4 GHz, and combine them again. It works just fine. Such a simple product can help you automate your home so easily, and I've been using tp-link for my home solutions since forever. It just works.

We got these switches for a spot in the house that controls both the recessed lights in the kitchen ceiling and the Sputnik chandelier in the dining room. I wasn't satisfied with the old arrangement I had cobbled together with side-sliding dimmer switches, and thought voice control would be handy given the dining room light shines into the living room and is inevitably on when we sit down to watch a movie. They've worked out very well. First off, I wasn't comfortable installing these, but only because in addition to the requirement of a white "neutral wire" (which I happily found nestled in the back of the switch box) these switches also require the use of a "load line," an additional black wire which isn't hot, which I was also able to locate but required a pigtail for the second switch. And this box was originally a 3-way because the dining room once had a fan rather than a chandelier. Too many wires for me. I called our local one-man electrician shop, and he came and knocked it out in an hour or so. LIKES They work! Kasa is a solid platform, and these days the Amazon Echo environment automatically adds Kasa devices once installed. I already had the app, so it was a 2-minute process naming the lights for voice control and dimming. All the lights in question are LED, and the dimming is frankly pretty "notchy," but I think that's more on the bulbs than the dimmer. If you try to dim too far down, or say, turn them on at 10%, you get nothing. But turn them on 40% or so and you can still dim down a bit. Good enough for me. DISLIKES Nothing much, but when using the switches manually, the main switches have squishy feel. And the included switchplate, which snaps into place, looks clean and smooth without any screw holes, but it's white plastic, and we've got wood or stainless steel switchplates everywhere else. On the other hand, the dimming buttons on the bottoms of the switches are nice and "clicky," and it's brilliant that the switches show a dim circle of light when they are *off* meaning you can see them in the dark. Very high-tech. Conclusion I'm glad we got these. There aren't many Alexa-controlled dimmers available, and I like to use Kasa when I can because their products generally work and play well with the Amazon platform. Another bonus of the voice control besides dimming during a movie is that we can avoid adjusting the kitchen lights with sticky hands in the middle of a cooking job -- my wife is especially happy with that. Four stars -- recommended.

works great. super easy to set up. they stay connected even when the wifi signal is weak. the app is also very good for this as well.

Can be a pain to wire up if not familiar with neutrals or ground configurations. Also one is a slave and the other is a master. I recommend electricians to install them . Once installed they work great easy to log on to them and they function properly.

Turned off the breaker switch to install these which is annoying because half of the breakers aren't labeled but that has nothing to do with the switch. You'd have to do that to install anything electrical safely. I caused a fire once by not doing that. Just wanted to make sure people are being safe installing these. It works great and I can control it from 3 app: kasa, Google home and tapo. For some reason connecting to tapo made it stop working on the kasa app but that's fine. I just use the tapo app and everything works perfectly.

I had bought 2 as the first install was not too difficult. When I set up the second one though it became clear that their app and services are terrible. The app is not user friendly and even when I finally figured out how to group things and put them in rooms the system is failing. When I connect to google home one light switch is always missing. Same one always. I have gone through setup numerous times. Once I have both 2 gang switches added the service stops publishing to google the one specific switch. Super annoying. Will likely replace both 2 gang switches with a different switches and do more research on who makes it.

Its a great switch option ,other than checking for neutral.Suggest checking for space in the switch box. It's a pretty big switch assy and does not leave any space for stowing the wires behind. I had to return as it could fit in standard switch box.
